I was expecting a 9 pin j1939 connector like it says, but I received a 6 pin connector disguised as a 9 pin.

I don't know if the software is the problem for certain but two different code readers with the correct software were tried. Neither would hookup to three different buses with two different engines.In the end I can not recommend this product nor can I blame it with certainty.
