Nitram700333 Charcoal

I've seen this used in YouTube videos and always wondered is it worth the huge price jump so when a cheap used warehouse offer appeared I jumped at the chance and I am so pleasedWow its fantastic your hands stay much cleaner it holds a point and the different grades really make it easy to show graduations of light and shadow

The media could not be loaded.  This charcoal set is of superb quality. It is easy to use - it slides on the paper but has great grip - and each grade leaves strong sharp marks. In the video I’ve tested them from Hard to Soft grades and you can see how strong and sharp the H is compared to the S of the last stick which is very dark and needs less pressure. The grading is very useful: it has 4 - ranging from H to S and very gradually so. You can easily wipe out this charcoal too which is a gift when you are a charcoal artist haha (I tested it on Artist Newspaper so it might be different on other papers). This charcoal has velvety effect and goes well with graphite and pastels. It is slightly on the expensive side but definitely worth it!

I bought this on the recommendation of my art tutor. It’s far less messy than willow charcoal and can be sharpened to a fine point.However I do find it scratchy and not so enjoyable to use as the willow charcoal.

A bit expensive, but really good to use, love it for doing portraits because it is strong and long enough to be loose or tight with fine marks

I heard this was the best charcoal you can get, its artists quality, you can achieve amazing results - you can sharpen it! - Unfortunately it hasn't lived up to my expectations, the texture for me is weird, its kind of scratchy rather than soft and smooth - As a result i've not got a great deal of use out of it.

Nitram charcoal excellent product. Very versatile , can sharpen a stick into a point very clean to handle. I use it for life drawing and sketching.

Like all charcoal, you need to sand to your desired point. This box has 4 lovely thickness or hardness styles, 2 each. Very good value.

Nitram gilt eigentlich als besonders stabil, aber diese Kohlestifte aus einem Warehouse Deal (wie neu!) haben es nur bereits geknackst zu mir geschafft.. Da Amazon die aber aus Italien schon hierher verfrachtet hat und ich jetzt ja auch mit den Stücken zeichnen kann, behalte ich die mal.

Amazon säger sig vilja värna om miljön och ignorerar totalt vad de faktiskt är för vara de skickar, de är bara intresserad av minsta möjliga volym/format. "More smiles" - knappast!Dessa sköra kolpinnar levererades till mig i ett kuvert, vem som helst med lite tankekraft borde inse vad som skulle hända. Jag är smått förundrad att några av kolpinnarna faktiskt är hela.De skulle naturligtvis skickas i en liten kartong med bubbelplast som skydd.Grymt besviken, om du har en lokal affär som säljer dessa så köp dem där istället!
