Improvement over my older device

I was impressed before I even got it out of the box! The care and high quality packaging is top notch! The iron comes inside of the quilted cloth pouch that is shown in the pictures. Very nice pouch! There's also a brush and 2 nice sturdy hair clips. I only tested 3 sections of hair, but it out performed my ceramic iron hands down! I am African American and I would say my hair is (guessing) a 3C. We didn't have these scales or descriptions when I was growing up, lol! I set it on a lower setting to get a feel for it first. I set it to 350 F and it straightened very well. I will likely increase the temp next time. It was a little tricky to make curls, but I think it's just a matter of practice and getting used to the iron. I'm happy with the purchase and glad that Sally's was out of stock of the other much more expensive iron I was planning to buy.Some girlie mentions:The plates are super shiny like mirrors!The handle and grips at the tip have shiny metallic flecks! Very pretty!

Wouldn't even turn on -- do not buy.

Actually seems to lose heat the more its being used in one sitting. Makes styling difficult and I personally feel it doesn't even reach the temperature of a basic curling iron. Does okay for straightening, not a great job curling. My hair is neither thick nor course and have never had such a hard time styling. Currently shopping for a replacement.

It works while it’s on, but has an auto off that shuts off before I’m done with my hair! And it does not hold any presets, you have to reset it every time you use it. Which includes every time it auto offs. Would not buy again.

Like I said I've spent waaayyy more money then what this product costs in the past for numerous other curling irons and or straighteners even the "CHI" brand ones which we all k kw are supposed to be top of the line and are certainly ungodly expensive..but for the fabulous price along with the fa t you literally have two devices in one...it simply cannot be beat...I'm growing my hair out..it's been a year and a week now since I had a awful car wreck that left a massive blood clot in my hair after going thru the windshield and in a year and a week it's went from GI Jane short to sumwhere in between chin and shoulder length and this device is the absolute best for it Thanks so much wld Def recommend and buy again!!!

This iron did not ever come up to anywhere near the 430 degrees it read out. It simply was not working on my hair! I need high heat to style my thick, wavy hair and noticed the gauge rapidly jumping from 350 to 400 degrees, which made me suspicious about the accuracy of the gauge. I asked my husband to use his laser thermometer, which is used for measuring temperature of objects, to measure the heat on the plates. They only reached 200 degrees according to his thermometer. I had to return it and did not want to take another chance on this brand. I bought a name brand one at my warehouse store, which was more expensive but works beautifully.

Arrived on time. Very good packaging. Just as described. I’ve only used it once as I just received. I have short fine hair. The iron worked very well gave me the fullness I wanted. I’ll add to my review once I’ve used the straightener for a few weeksFirst impression great product

Liked the flattening rods but after 3 uses the locking mechanism to hold the rods closed stopped working.

I almost returned this iron only due to the fact it doesn't get hot enough for me. Having said that, this iron is very nice, it doesn't rip my ends. It glides beautifully. It also allows for a curl under, as your straightening your hair, very cool feature. I personally use it on my second day of hair wash, as I mentioned it didn't heat to the strength I wanted. I do however love this iron for the fact that its so sleak and non damaging to your hair.
