Another terribly great, mess of a movie from Tommy and Greg
Ok, first off, all the reviews that say this is "pretty/surprisingly/actually good" are 100% wrong. This is another gloriously awful film from Tommy and Greg. In fact, from a technical standpoint, this movie is "worse" than The Room. The Room objectivly has better editing and cinematography than Best F(r)iends. There is no consistent tone and they use about 10 different digital cameras, all vary from looking horrendous to good enough for Hallmark movies. This also has some of the most jaw droppingly bad editing. I couldn't believe that I walked away from this movie appreciating the style of The Room more. This is not a better movie than The Room, and yet somehow it's not a better BAD movie than The Room. Tommy and Greg truly work in mysterious ways.I would definitely say that this is not an attempt to make a purposefully bad movie. The story, acting and plot seem to be going for a serious tone, and that's exactly what makes this bad movie enjoyable. They once again are trying to be deep, and fail so spectacularly that they succeed.I read a lot of reviews saying this was underwhelming and not bad enough. I was worried that since Tommy wasn't directing, the quality would be better than The Room in such a way that it becomes boring. I was not bored by this movie at all. I was craving some of that Tommy lunacy and this movie delivers! I 100% recommend this to anyone else that has been profoundly impacted by The Room.

This could be one of your best purchases ever!
Only once or twice in a lifetime are we blessed with such a transcendent masterwork such as Best F(r)iends. It's simply incredible. Each brushstroke was obviously inspired, and the pains taken to make it look effortless are a credit to the actors and director. The dialogue was so natural it surpasses anything I've ever seen. The plot is both engaging and maddening in its trajectory. The cinematography is beautiful and the settings believable. Tommy is at his best, both as a master of the spoken word and the idiosyncrasies involved in navigating such a compelling character. Greg is also in great form, stretching his talent beyond even what we've already seen. It's a movie that can be watched over and over again.

OK then...
Tommy Wiseau as a mortician was enough to rope me in. He's a gloriously weird as you'd expect him to be. Greg Sestero wrote this screenplay which is actually fairly compelling. The direction is all over the place (and we can't blame Tommy for that!) but the acting is OK and the entire film has an eerie dreamlike quality to it that I found effective. You can't compare this to The Room except to say it's probably a better film in many ways. I'm not sure "enjoy" is the right word but I did find it compelling enough to watch parts 1 and 2 in one night. It's odd and often disturbing but, again, Tommy Wiseau plays a mortician. 'Nuff said.

Very interesting!
I loved both movies but of course you have to watch the second movie to see the ending. Some very funny moments with Tommy as usual but all in all Greg Sestero wrote a very compelling script with surprises along the way. I'm looking forward to watching them again!

Great-no, seriously!
Full disclosure I am one of the many besotted with the two stars. And it was the first time I watched one of their movies sober. And I loved it! Not necessarily a fan of the genre but the story sucks you in and logic goes out the window. I was captivated. The music., the screenplay and the acting all work. So glad I bought this. You will not be sorry you visited this world.

Worth an Evening In
This is one of the few movies I actually re-watch. I love the raw story telling and dark humor (and the couple puns squeezed in there 😉.) Endearing, captivating... What more can I say?Highly recommend viewing Vols. 1 and 2 back to back. They will take you on an epic journey.Great job, Best F( r )iends Team!

The only thing missing from this semi autobiographical story is space ships
What other rating can you give anything with the name Tommy Wiseau on it besides 5 stars. They don't have negative stars so.. Besides, His stuff always falls into the category of 'so bad, it's good.'I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves Tommy, so it obviously deserves 5 stars. Hey... Get off my back, already.

Really slow shipping
The shipping for this took a long time which sucks but it arrived in one piece and I'm so happy I was able to find a region-free copy of this movie! Definitely recommend this double feature if you are a fan of The Room and enjoying Tommy's acting!

Amazingly Awful and Hilariously Fun
Best F(r)iends was without a doubt one of the single worst movies I've ever watched, and that's exactly why I bought it. It has the same horrendous writing and dialogue that was seen in The Room, but this time the editing was done by a legitimate production company which makes this one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen. Nothing makes sense, the plot is weird, the dialogue is weirder (we even had to look up names of the key characters part way through because no one I watched this movie with heard them introduced) but the picture quality, editing and music were top notch. All together it makes this one of the single most bizzare movies I've ever watched and probably my favourite $30 I've ever spent.

This ain't The Room
As a massive fan of The Room, and my obsession with laughing at/with it, there was no way I could go past this. I read so many reviews on here comparing it and saying it was just as bad and funny as The Room... But I just finished watching both parts and I have to say this doesn't have anything going for it that The Room did.Like sure it's bad, and it's poorly made... But being written by Greg Sestero and not Tommy... Well it's just plain bad. But without everything that made The Room so damn hilarious. There's nothing funny about these movies, there's nothing quirky about them, there's nothing that make these a good time. They're just plain bad.I've given this an average of 2 stars because I would actually rate the first film 3 stars, being a decent setup and while slow, actually mildly interesting. But the second movie it all falls apart and becomes some bizarre storyline about trying to open an ATM. Like... that's the entire plot of the second film. There's two big twists but I saw them both coming from the first film, they're so obvious. Plus Tommy isn't even in the second film except for flashbacks until the last 10 minutes. It just is a joyless, boring, pointless mess and lacks any of the fun that came with watching The Room.

Tommy and Greg are the best!
Love these movies, in the way that you love anything created by these two!
