When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called 'Big Hero 6.'Soundtrack includes original score composed by Henry Jackman and end title track 'Immortals' performed by Fall Out Boy.

Electrifying Jackman
As I am not Henry Jackman's biggest fan, this score is exactly what I expect from Jackman. Electrifying, musically brilliant, and wonderfully fantastic. Big Hero 6 is firmly planted in the fantasy world combo San Francisco and Tokyo where technology rules making Henry Jackman the perfect choice to score this film. Jackman does a magnificent job of mixing joy, sorrow, comedy, and drama with each and very scene. He managed to find a balance between traditional instrumentation and electronics like guitar or siren-esqe sounds that really set the tone and style for the movie while giving the scenes heroic qualities. My favorite tracks are Microbots which makes me feel as if I am at real expo, Test Flight, and Reboot. They are fun and moving and a great mix of instrumentation all across the board. If you are a fan of the movie, film scores, or Henry Jackman you really should get this album.

Good, but not great
Something is "off" about this OST. It goes well with the movie, granted. It fits the scenes, yes. It has high production quality, yes. But it's missing a life of its own. There are not any identifiable repeating motifs that continue throughout. Take Wreck-It-Ralph, there are key little patterns of music (the motifs) that are used and re-used and subtilly changed. They bring characters into the songs. They tie all the songs together. You can pick any song at random and very soon identify the movie just by the melodies and motifs. With BH6, I can't. I can only identify the songs as belonging to BH6 because I've watched the movie numerous times and have the OST in the car with my kids.

Purchased for my toddler and it was very well-received.
Bought this for my toddler, who is a rabid fan of the movie. The soundtrack consists of the main theme song by Fallout Boy and the rest of consists entirely of musical scores from the movie. I didn't think my son would enjoy the musical scores, but he immediately recognized them. This is a fantastic soundtrack for long car rides. Whenever he gets bored or cranky, I turn it on and he is immediately mesmerized. I have found that the musical scores are also soothing in the evenings closer to bed time.

A Truly Wonderful & Organic Emotional Journey From Henry Jackman
There’s no need to repeat just how diverse and talented Henry Jackman is, but if you had any doubt about his abilities then Big Hero 6 should put that to rest. Big Hero 6 is a beautifully realized story executed with so much passion and heart. The score is a huge part of why Big Hero 6 works so well, and it’s Henry Jackman’s most emotionally resonating score to date. While Big Hero 6 follows the mold that many other films have such as How To Train Your Dragon and E.T., this story does enough to be unique to itself. It really is a film about family and dealing with loss, which makes it a very emotional journey. Henry Jackman handles these emotional beats with care, and the score’s organic emotional resonance will stay with you long after the film is done. The score immediately introduces us to our protagonist, Hiro Hamada. Hiro is a young teen with a huge untapped potential that only his older brother sees. Hiro is very close to his brother, and they have been raised by their loving aunt after their parents passed away. The score does an amazing job of painting that relationship between Hiro and his brother. Jackman also does a stupendous job at crafting the fictional world of San Fransokyo, a meshing of San Francisco and Tokyo. The score makes the city come to life, and you accept it as a real place. The score is so in-tune with the characters, especially Hiro’s and Baymax’s relationship. Baymax is a medical robot created by Hiro’s brother, and is the only thing left of his true family after the tragedy of his brother’s death. So Hiro holds onto Baymax as the last remaining piece of his late brother, and the emotional connection of that is the heart of the score. Jackman holds onto that relationship in the score throughout, so even when Hiro’s friends join his cause to find out who stole his technology and killed his brother, the score never loses focus. It never becomes a big “superhero” score, which is great. Sure there are some of those heroic flourishes, but the main theme feels like a toned down superhero theme, and that makes is more personal. The music is never bigger than the characters. Jackman infuses electronics into this orchestral adventure to accent Hiro’s passion for robotics and of course Baymax. The score hits all the beats, and can be supremely heartfelt at times and even emotionally overwhelming. You are in for a real journey that is all about the characters and the closeness of their relationships. The score doesn’t feel manufactured in anyway. The emotions are so organic and so real, that they complete the relationships you are watching onscreen. Jackman’s orchestral approach makes the action a true adrenaline rush, and it stylistically has its own identity while still feeling like a true Henry Jackman score. I felt similarities to his X-Men: First Class score a few times throughout, so you definitely know it’s Jackman. However, it’s Jackman really firing on all cylinders. Big Hero 6 is an emotionally lush adventure score that has a central core dedicated to its beautifully realized characters and their relationships. The film and score are about keeping your loved ones alive in you even after they’re gone, and that’s what makes it such a beautiful musical journey. Beautiful themes, flourishing adventure, fully developed character arcs, a sense of danger and loss, emotions that resonate deep, a unique sonic voice and Jackman’s signature style all await you in Big Hero 6.Kaya Savas for filmmusicmedia.com

Disappointed
The cd does not display the numbers of the songs and you can not skip or go back, very disappointed. Furthermore, only has one of the songs “Immortals “, but the others are only sound tracks.

Great CD to listen to when studying/working
Great music as always for a disney/pixar film! =]only the immortals song has lyrics, and everything else is instrumental. There are a lot of emotions in the songs and sometimes electronic sounds to make them sound high tech/futuristic. Its great for studying/working when you need something with energy that won't distract you with words, if you skip the immortals song

I enjoyed the score
I enjoyed the score, and I'm happy to add it to my music collection. The tracks are short, simple, and creative, and the score complements the movie well. I ordered the CD and unfortunately the case arrived damaged, but the disk was A-OK. Henry Jackman manages to create something new and unique to every project while still maintaining a recognizable style, and Fall Out Boy's 'Immortal' may seem a out of place at first, but it's a great song nonetheless!

Brilliant Tunes!
Apart from arriving early, which is always a bonus, I love this sound track. I'm a big kid at heart and loved the movie, but have always believed the soundtrack can make or break. This one is a winner!!! I am carried away by the soulfullness of some of the tunes, and captured by the frivolity of others. If you love the movie, you need to get this!
