Great long lasting paddle guard
Ive been using these on my paddle since 2008 and recommend to everyone with a SUP. Some people complain about hydrodynamics of the paddle blade but I have used side by side with and without and could not tell a difference. I CAN tell the difference on the rails of my board and the rails of other people that dont use the paddle guard. This is also great protection for your paddle if it happens to slide off your roof or you drop it on the way to/from the beach.Installation is fairly easy. Its best to do when weather is warm or indoors if its cold outside. The guard has gel glue inside the streamer and it applies best when at a decent temperature. Once on they stay on. This is my third purchase in over 10 years. First replacement was due to a cracked paddle blade and this purchase is for my new adjustable paddle. They last!

Time will tell
Guess I am from a different planet. This pack has enough to do more than one paddle. I did not take it up to the tops of the blade; as I have never had issues on the upper part of the blades. Only really needed it to protect the base & a little way up. I bought 2 packages thinking I'd need 'em both for 2 paddles. Now I have some spare. The shipping was not worth returning it for cash. Pretty sure I shall have other paddles to protect. The other reason I did not put it to the top was it would not be a clean fit where the shaft meets the blade.Have yet to try it on the water.

difficult installation
Poorly written instructions, typical local boy style. I started from the blade instead of the neck, went on fine until the neck. For paddles with a "good" ridge on the neck or where the ridge cleanly terminates at the neck, this will work out nicely. However, for paddles where the ridge gradually dissolves into the neck, the best thing to do is to cut the rubber where it starts to have difficulty staying on the neck. I tried to go all the way up to the neck, unsuccessfully. It got pretty messy there. I ended up just cutting the rubber at the point where it stayed on. Heating the rubber wasn't effective, as the rubber is pretty damn ridgid and will heal it's shape when it cools--its stronger than the crazy glue. I rubber padded vise might have helped. Be prepared for crazy glue mess and I recommend using clamps.

Works great on my paddle!
Easy to install. I microwaved it for 15 seconds to soften it and that helped me with the install.

Paddle guard works fantastic..
Paddle guard works fantastic... once you can get it to stay attached. I'm usually pretty good with working things like this (hence, GadgetGuy handle) and I struggled for a while to get the right adhesion of the guard to the neck of the paddle. TIP: lightly heat (bright sun should work or hair dryer) the paddle guard before applying to the paddle. It will make it more flexible and pliable for attachment. The finishing tape that was provided also started to unravel after 1 day... use electrical tape instead. Electrical tape works much better!

Easy to install, helps protect my board
I got this after putting some dings in my board from a missed paddle stroke. Wish I would have done it sooner. Easy to install, measure, glue, and done. Doesn’t affect blade performance

Perfect for protecting the lip of the paddle!
This is a lifesaver for the paddle. I'm not worried now to push off rocks, the bottom, or when carrying up a trail. The strip gets trimmed to your board, and superglued at the beginning and end to hold it on, which worked out great. There is adhesive inside the channel that holds the whole thing tight, too.I did not use the included black tape for the neck of the paddle, but probably going to use some helicopter tape for that part.
