My 5th Seidio Surface Combo - Still love it!!
As the headline states, this is, in fact, my 5th Seidio Surface Combo iPhone phone case/holster... I've used Seidio for years on each of my iPhones (I did have a couple of problems with my old iPhone 4S cases... the spring clips tended to break and fall apart right off the belt, but Seidio was good about replacing each of them under warranty, even one that was slightly out of warranty). Seidio seems to have fixed that problem, because my 6S case lasted under some pretty grueling conditions, including falling off my belt and onto the street a few times over the years. Therefore, when I recently got my new XR, there was no doubt in my mind which case I'd be using to protect it. As a protective shell, it's fine... it does the trick, has protected my phone on more than one drop occasion, and I've never had to replace any part of my phone due to its protection. I like the extremely thin (less than 2mm) thick case, that does include some shock absorption inside. But for me, it's the quality of the belt clip holster that keeps me coming back. I just like having my phone on my belt, not in my hand, or my pockets, or in my jacket (the XR is much heavier than I thought it would be, but that's another story... but I don't really feel the weight using the Seidio holster). It has an extremely good fit, no rattling, no looseness, and the buttons are easy to use, while also being protected. The one thing I don't really care for is the plastic "window" that covers the apple logo in the circle (identifiable to the Surface model specifically). It always looks like there's moisture in there (although there is not... it's just the look of the plastic being pushed up against the very smooth, shiny surface of the back of the phone). I'm not sure why Seidio added that, given that this particular model phone (purchased specifically for the iPhone XR) is weather-resistant. It's clearly not a deal-breaker, but just seems superfluous and less attractive.Aside from that, I do like that the case is built such that the phone's camera lens is protected (prior to having the case put on), rather than when the phone was "naked," the camera lens would be set against whatever surface the phone sat upon, if placed on it's back. I know the camera lens is extremely durable, but I feel much better that this case protects the lens itself as well.I just hope Seidio keeps manufacturing this particular Surface Combo... so far, so good... and I don't really have any intention or reason to switch to anything else. Highly recommend (now that they seem to have fixed their weak clip spring issues).

Thicker than previous Surface offerings
This is noticeably bulkier than my previous Surface cases (used with iPhone 3, 4, 5, 6), but of similar quality. Two-piece system seems to have less flex and play at the connection, but it's very nearly too big (mounted on a phone that's meaty enough out of the box). Pairs well with ArmorSuit case friendly screen protector. Holster is bulked up a bit to match the case, but performs well, comparable to previous versions. Kickstand was another change I'd just as soon do without. Great impact protection (have already dropped the phone multiple times).Overall it's a small step down from what had been a great product - would buy again, but would prefer a version that hews closer to the past Surface designs.

An ok case that could use some improvements.
The case is small and I like that the side buttons take a lot of pressure to click, it prevents accidental calls and camera activation. The spring latch that holds the phone in the belt clip goes weak quickly and sometimes breaks. The black case heats up pretty quick in the sunlight, a lot more than other black cases I’ve owned. Careful it might cook your phone.

Seems like a good, solid case.
I've been using these for three phone models now. Simply because they do what I need them to do with little to no fuss or hassle. By comparison, things like otterbox are just too bulky and complex. and cheaper, no-name, amazon alternatives tend to be ill-fitting, or too light or brittle. The Seidio hits the sweet spot of price, usability and durability. The only difference between this one and previous designs is instead of the built in soft sort of cloth lining IN the case, this one has a thin rubber under-case that goes on before the actual case. I thought his was kind of odd at first. But once it's all together, it feels even more solid and better protected.I'm a fan!

Normally a GREAT product, not this time.
I always purchase Seidio cases for my cell phones, They are normally the best you can buy. However, as I picked up my cellphone tonight, the upper left corner of my cell case just broke off. No reason, just broke like it was candy. I will not purchase another after this. Apparently this one was defective.

Beware! May get factory 2nd or refurbished
This one is going back for a return/exchange!I've had Seidio cases before and liked them a lot and one of the reasons why I bought this one again in spite of being so expensive. When I got mine delivered today, the original box was ripped and open. The parts were a little dusty, but would be o.k. with a little cleaning. No biggie. When I looked closely, the felt backing showed obvious signs of wear. Ugh. If it was cheaper I wouldn't mind, but this is an expensive case/holster and I think it should be new.

Secure, protective, and convenient
The belt holster holds the phone very securely. The case is slim and easy to install. I'm very happy with this, and have purchased one for every phone I've had for years.

Very disappointed in the quality
I’ve used only Seidio since I had my blackberry. I’ve always had great luck until this one. I’ve had it 3 months and have had to glue it in multiple spot. It just seems weaker or more brittle than my many other cases. Cheaply made for the money!!
