Hampton Bay Replacement Remote for Transmitter Model CHQ7096T with Up/Down Light and Reverse Function

This was the correct remote for my ceiling fan and worked correctly, but as the issue appears to be with my receiver and compatible receivers are not available, I had to by a complete substitute set and returned this item.

At first I was hesitated to get this remote control because I didn’t know if it worked or not. After read some reviews and I decided to give it a try. To my expectations, it works perfectly just like the original one. I’m very happy that I made the right choice.

Lost the old remote - had to play around with the pins until it worked. You have to press the button with some oomph for it to actually work. Glad we were able to find a remote that worked!

Unlike the original, this replacement control has no way of dimming light.

I was a little concerned that this replacement remote wouldn’t work with my fan - or at least that I would have to spend a lot of time changing toggle switches to get it to work. No issue, total synch right out of the box. I don’t know if that is luck or if most of the fans this remote works with have the same toggle switch settings as the remote. Good news though.

Easy to figure out which switch to use in the battery compartment by looking at the one needing replacement. The blue fan button works perfectly. The orange light button needs to be pressed hard in order to get it to turn on and you'll need to press the button several times to turn the light off. The remote doesn't work like the original one but I can live with it. I can't get a replacement one from Home Depot, it's a Home Decorators Collection, think their brand.

I got the ceiling fan about five years ago didn’t have the remote because it was given to me, it was $50 then at Home Depot I finally got it it’s perfect looks just like the one on the box it’s just like the one that goes to the Hampton Bay win series 2 that’s what I have and can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner.. yes I’m a procrastinator! 🤣 I love it and for 1/2 of the price it was!

I wish I could give zero stars. I have two Windward III ceiling fans and eventually wore out the original remote controls. Unfortunately, this fan model can only work with its remote control. There aren't any pull-chains to manually turn fan or lights on/off. Both of these remotes are defective, and each in a different way. One remote reverses the fan every time I turn the light on or off. The other remote resets ("reboots") every time I turn either the fan or light on or off. I have to repeatedly hit the same button multiple times until I eventually get it to work without resetting itself. Apparently Hampton Bay doesn't do any quality checks on their Chinese factories. I'm done with Hampton Bay. I don't know what fan I'll choose to replace them with, but it sure won't be another Windward III (or anything else by Hampton Bay). $25 plus shipping (each) for garbage.

Works great for my fan. This is the exact remote you need for the Windward 3 fan with the UpDown light and reverse function. The way to tell this is the correct one is the Blue and Orange buttons. The other ones with different colours (Blue/yellow) or (Blue/Green) are for other fan models.

Worked immediately just like the original. We are thankful to have a working remote as our fan is on a 16 ft ceiling. We are also grateful we found this one on Amazon
