Wonderful recipe holder!
No pictures, no coffee table browse book....I use this for recipies! My old photo book which is like this but holds only half as many cards, was coming apart, and it has been discontinued. I wasn't sure if this would be too big, but amazingly (ha ha) my recipe collection has now expanded to fill it! When opened, there are 4 columns of 25 card/photo holders each. You can of course put cards or pictures on both sides. Total of 200 spaces! All the spaces are for 4x6 inch cards/photos. The color I received is a a sort of dark redish color, as shown in the picture. The card/photo holders are not as sturdy as my former album, the plastic is very thin, but with two index cards in each, or two photos in each, it is adequately firm. When the cards or photos are in the slots, there is a 1/4" space at the bottom which shows either the bottom tip of the photo, or the bottom 1/4" of your index card. Perfect place to write the name of your recipe! I can see at a glance, the name of every recipe in every column! My old album had a memo area under each slot and I was constantly using white correction fluid to change the names as I put in new cards. What a mess. I don't have to do that any more. If you need to replace a card or photo, just gently pull it out. The name of the recipe is on your card, not on the album. I'm getting one for my sister who is still using a "recipe box" with little index cards. Such a great gift for a serious cook.

Makes a great recipe book!
These albums are really nice. They're good and strong, nice quality, and they even have a factory leather-ish smell to them, which I love. My only complaint so far is that I haven't found any in other colors! (At least on Amazon.com)I bought two of these books, one for my mom and one for me. Then I printed out some recipe category cards using clip art for the top "photo" in each column, and I put 4x6 recipe cards in each pocket underneath. I use a little white-out tape on the bottom of each card if it's not already white, and then write the title of the recipe on that strip. That way, when I need a certain recipe, all I have to do is glance down the column and find the one that I need. Or, if I don't know what to do for dinner that night, I just look through to get some quick ideas. You can either put recipes on both sides, so that when you get to the bottom of a column, you just turn the book over and flip them the other way for the rest of them, or you can take photos of your recipes and slide them in on the back side so you can see a picture of your dish while looking at the recipe. I'll see if I can get some pictures uploaded soon to help explain this, but it works GREAT! Mom and I both LOVE these recipe books; they're so convenient!

Perfect Organizer
I'm not using this for Photos. I am using it for my home management organizer and it is great because of the cascading design. I bought 4 x 6 colored index cards and recipe cards that fit perfectly in the sleeves. The first column is for my daily chores. So it holds Monday through Friday for 4 weeks. At the bottom of the cards I wrote the Days of the week so I can see them easily. Then the next column is the monthly cards. So I have the Months on the bottom of the card and have written on them what need to be done each month. Then the next two columns I'm using for menu planning. I'm planning to put several weekly menus and the recipes for those menus. Again with each entree printed at the bottom of the card so you can see what each card is easily in the cascade design. I love this books design and because it folds up so nicely I can store it in my kitchen easily and refer to daily. I will still have room for more less used information on the back of each card but I haven't decided what I will use them for. Maybe for side dishes for each entree in the recipe section.

Great album
This album is great. It's easy to load with photos. It looks very nice when it's closed. I like how it folds upon itself, further protecting the photos and keeping them from falling out.My one complaint, and it's a strange one, is that the album arrived in a box from the seller smelling like sewage. We aired it out, and it was ok after that. But it was really weird. Terrible smell.

Old style must have been in a damp warehouse somewhere.....
Unfortunately I was very unhappy with the photo album. I wanted this style as we had 2 children get married this summer and wanted to display their very different weddings side by side. The flip photo style must be very old as when I opened the box when it arrived it smelled musty. I may have been able to air it out enough to make it work, but when I opened the album itself there was black mold between each of the photo sleeves. Very disappointing. I sent it back.

Not good. One star is my only choice to be able to comment.
I bought this to give as a Christmas gift and I'm so glad I decided to keep it because about 2 weeks ago I decided to use it. When I opened it, it was still in it's original cellophane packaging, it was full of mold. Evidently it was packaged too soon after it was manufactured and the smell/odor was terrible. So disappointed. I get many things from or thru Amazon and they are a great company to work with. This seems to be some kind of fluke.

Truly a great product
WAY better than storing pictures in boxes and much more space conserving than using your standard photo album. I have four of these, and I have started organizing my pictures by years. I have been able to organize pictures from middle school and high school. I'm a college grad now, and this is really great when seeing old friends. I get lots of compliments and people are always interested in the display of the album. I will probably buy more as I continue to print pictures of my life- currently married with a baby!

I hold all my pictures, but have an mildew ...
I hold all my pictures, but have an mildew smell. I put all fragrance galore on them and they still smell mildewy.
