Simple, easy game - loads of battle fun!!
Well, I have to admit I did not play this game 50 years ago nor have I ever experienced the "original version" that was apparently made so much better than this one according to other reviewers......BUT....I'm surprised by all the negative comments about "not worth buying", "cheaply made", etc. I got this for my 8 year old son's birthday and I have to say its provided LOADS of light-hearted fun. He was SO EXCITED when he opened the box (and he'd never heard of this game!) It's not a game you sit and play for hours, but we love taking turns battling each other - Dad versus son, Mom versus Dad, son versus little sister, son versus granddad, son versus friend, etc. The robots are easily moved, buttons work well and there is some practice and skill required to win (busting the head off your opponent's robot). You have to block and you have to hit the chin just right to sock the head off your opponent! For Christmas we purchased a VERY EXPENSIVE electronic battle bots game with remote controls. That game is TERRIBLE compared to this one and it's much "better made" (not cheap by any means). We've played Rock 'em Sock 'em 10 times more than the expensive, electronic bells and whistles version. Sometimes simple is better and I think this game should be appreciated for what it's meant to be - a battle robot game for kids who will DELIGHT in rockin' those robots and sockin' their heads off! :)

Great Toy! The Grandkids loved playing this
We bought this for our Grandson's 6th birthday. It's hard sometimes to find a gift the kids like that doesn't involve video games and similar electronics, those popular building blocks or the latest cartoon characters found in video games AND keeps them interested for more than a couple minutes. We took a chance on this "old fashioned" toy and our grandkids loved playing each other, their Poppa (me) and their Dad. I had a fun time playing as well with both them and my grown up son. Finally a non-electronic toy that they're actually using! This toy is marked adult assembly required, which always worries me a bit. But the assembly was just snapping a few plastic parts together and no tools were required. Literally just took a couple minutes and the instructions had about 3 steps or so. All that and it doesn't break the bank either!

Yesteryear brought back in Spades!
While shopping for Christmas presents for my grandchildren, I was overwhelmed by all the new style toys. The electronics, the cost, the lack of imagination. So as I was browsing through Amazon looking for ideas, I came across this. Rock'em Sock'em Robots. I remember this game from way back in the past. It was an exciting and fun way to play with your siblings, friends and even parents (if they were in the mood). Then I started thinking that it would be a great gift for my grandson. He is just young enough to be enthralled by it and old enough to know how to use it. I am hoping that more games and toys of the yesteryear come back. The game was delivered in a very timely fashion. My grandson loves it! He plays with it daily. He has even beat his old grandma. LOL. I would definitely recommend this toy to anyone looking to bring back some good old fashioned fun to their family's experiences.

Fun game for two
This is probably half the size of the same game that my children had when they were young. The directions for putting together the parts could be much better but we finally got it together. The "ropes" that would go outside of the boxing ring were too tight to fit into place (they were preassembled at the factory) so we decided they weren't necessary, and they aren't. The kids and people who played had fun, the game worked well, blocks got knocked off, and whoever plays a lot is going to end up with very strong thumb muscles. :) Overall, fun. I gave it a 4 overall for the directions, which weren't enough for a couple of adults, and the ropes not being usable. Still, overall, a fun game that worked well once assembled (only about 4 or 5 parts to attach.)

Great gift item!
I purchased this for my little brother (he's now 21 years old) as a funny Christmas gift, I thought it might bring back some memories! You can't beat the price for something that brings memories of your childhood and makes your sibling smile! :) These are just as I remember when I was little and my brother laughed as soon as he opened it! He didn’t laugh as much when I kicked his butt though... haha! Shipping was quick (prime) and it arrived packaged well. It's sturdy enough that I would feel comfortable with my kids playing with this (which I'm sure they will along with my little brother!). We probably won't use it as often as some because it was a gift for a 21 year old, but if you are looking to buy this as a gift for a young child, I would recommend it. They'll have a blast just like we used to!

Frustrated instead of Fun
Rock em Sock em was one of my favorite games to play as a kid. My brothers and I would play for hours against each other. When I saw this game on Amazon around the Holidays, I was super excited to order it for my son, and enjoy a game from my childhood with him. Like a lot of board games now a days, this game is really cheaply made, which I feel is why it isn’t as fun as I remember. The robots would either slide out of their sides of the boxing ring or move forward and almost look like they were falling into the ring. Because the pieces are all plastic, and cheaply made; it was difficult to really get the robots to stay in the spots they should’ve been in. I kept trying to push them in place, but I was afraid the harder I pushed the more likely I was to break the plastic clip they were supposed to attach to, and then the game would be useless. I hate to say, but this game definitely was a let down from the one I so enjoyed as a kid. It didn’t meet my expectations at all, and I’d probably say to go with a different game. My 5 year old son didn’t enjoy playing because of the robots and how they wouldn’t stay in, and instead of having fun we just got frustrated. 😤😤

This is one of the greatest toys ever made
This is one of the greatest toys ever made! I've been looking to buy one for the past few years but the price seemed a bit steep until I found it on here for $20 bucks! It's not a replica of the original game but it works just as good if not better. It's definitely built better than the original of course . The pieces are solid and sturdier. I tested both robots and they both punch correctly and can move around a little bit. I remember being able to move around more with the original game than what you can in this version. I thought the ring was bigger too. It probably just seemed bigger back then. At first it's kinda hard to make the head pop up. It takes a little skill and practice to do it right. It's pretty easy once you knw what to do exactly. This version is very easy to assemble and everything snaps together and doesn't fall apart. They did a really good job with this game in my opinion. 5 stars.

Brings back memories! Love it
I had to order this game! My kids always want me to play beyblades and i just don’t care for it! Now rock em sock em is more my cup of tea 😂😂. I do recommend this game for anyone really. Makes a great gift! One thing i must say is, the ring post kept falling and one of the ropes came apart, but that was not such a big deal i hot glued it back together and NO more issues! Now i can enjoy fun with my kids!

A big hit with 11 & 8 yo niece and nephew! Hours of enjoyment.
Bought this for my 11 yo niece and 8 yo nephew for Christmas - I was already the favourite (only) aunty before, but this cemented it! They didn't stop playing all afternoon, and have been enjoying it ever since. This was their favourite game to play when they traveled to America and visited the arcade parlours, so they were ecstatic to have their very own version at home.

Bim bam boum
Le jeux est facile à monter. La boîte est sublime et arrivée en parfait état (pour un collectionneur comme moi c'est important!) des heures de bagarre en perspective avec mon fils. Bref je recommande !
