and I'm quite pleased with the improvement in handling
Installed this a few weeks ago on my 2005 Astro AWD, and I'm quite pleased with the improvement in handling. Greatly reduced the side-to-side rocking and leaning when cornering. It installed easily enough, but I did have to re-route the rear brake lines to accomodate the u-bolts that mount the anti-sway bar to the axle. Not difficult, but having a tubing bender in my tool collection made the job easier. There is no interference with the OEM spare wheel (one of those small temporary ones) or with the full sized spare that I replace the OEM one with. The item comes with all necessary mounting hardware and pretty good instructions.

Hellwig, the best sway-bar market !!
Hellwig is the best sway-bar market. I install this to the rear of my '01 Asrto. It has increased handling and cornering beyond my expectations. I highly recommend getting this sway-bar from these folks. I have use other bars will other builds but compared to Hellwig seem to have a cheap components. Customer service is the best and base right here in the USA !!! I think I will replace the front as the factory swaybars on an Astro are cheap, hollow and seem to have more roll the back Hellwig bar. Ya get what ya pay for, nuff said !!!

Do you really need it?
One thing to keep in mind is..if you are running OEM spec front and rear shocks with OEM rear leaf springs, the Hellwig is a definite need. However, if you are running stiffer shocks and upgraded leaf packs..the Hellwig will be more of a nicety. The astro comes factory aimed at the daily driver..not anything related to performance.Also, P rated tires will really wallow. 10 ply tires will not. Happy driving!

Hellwig 7534 Rear Sway Bar for Astro/Safari Van
Great product! It makes van more stable in corners and winding roads. The Hellwig bars are great. The kit was complete and the instructions have nice photos to ease installation. A rear sway bar is one of the best add ons for the Astro Van which did not have a factory installed rear anti-sway bar.The bar is steel and is nicely painted with a powder coat paint. The bar fits above the axle and fits great. The end links mount to brackets which attach to nut plates that fit into OEM holes in the rear frame. No drilling is required.
