Question 1

Can these be mounted perpendicular to the direction of travel?  I want to mount my bike across the front of my trailer.  Thanks.

The actual "arms" only slide in one direction with the grooves in the base, if you mount the base accordingly then yes, you can mount a bike across the width of the trailer. Also, I bought two, one of the red knurled knobs that keeps the arms from sliding stripped out, called customer service, a jerk asked if I could just weld a nut to it and use a bolt....then proceeded to complain about the 4 weeks it would take to file a complaint with the manufacturer etc etc....I welded a nut..but their customer service sucks, otherwise the product works great.

Does your tire have to be straight or can you have it clocked

I just unboxed my Lock & load pro and one of the uprights won't unlock.

Good morning,
This happens time to time when the Lock-N-Loads are new and not broken in. To release simply give the top of the jaw a good hard pop downwards and that will release the upright. Make sure the red lever is in the up position. Once released, the unit shouldn't give you the same issue again as it will then be broken in. Do you make one that will work with a harley davidson road king classic? full dress road bike (almost 800 lbs).
