has anyone paired this w/ an open-back headphones, and experience feedback/echo? my only concern atm, otherwise sold.

I've used these with Sennheiser HD 599 SE's and Philips SHP9500's. They're both open-back headphones and I've had no issues at all.

Is this compatible with previous magnetic mounts (i.e. I don't want to de-attach the mic from my current Modmic 5 from my headset)

Yes, it is. However I had to change the position of my magnet mount to accommodate the length of the Wireless ModMic.
