Installation Instructions: CAUTION: Sharp edges. Wear gloves when handling. Some familiarity with using a drill and metal shears is recommended in case modifications are necessary. For most homes: Most vents openings have a 1/4-20 bolt protruding near the center. Simply slide the new vent cover over that bolt and then screw on the new wing nut. 1/4" center hole can be re-drilled larger, if needed. Includes 1/4-20 wingnut which fits the original bolt on most foundation holes. Other wingnut sizes are available through your local hardware store. Vent cover can be trimmed to size or to fit around drain pipes. Use metal-cutting shears (not included). Can be painted to match home's exterior trim. We recommend painting before installing. For best results, install in winter and then remove and store in summer to allow ventilation under your floors.
