So There Padded Leather Guitar Strap - Genuine Leather Strap Best for Guitar or Bass - Tan

I had bought one of these back in April for my main instrument and bought a second for my bass guitar this past July. While the second is a good strap still, I'm saddened to see that So There has moved to a cheaper synthetic-feeling leather for the newer one. As you can see in the photo provided, the bottom, older strap has a more rugged look and feels generally higher quality while the top one is smoother and more cheap feeling. I hope this changes in the future, as I'm a fan of the understated, clean look and design of these straps. I would rate the first strap I bought from them as 5 stars and the second 3 stars.

This strap is a phenomenal bargain and a heck of a nice strap. You can't go wrong with a padded black leather strap make in the U.S.A.. A cheap nylon strap costs about $25 in the guitar store and for a few bucks more you get a much more comfortable and better looking leather strap. The choice is easy! This thing looks like it will last a lifetime and I did like the fact that it did not have any badges or metal that might scratch the guitar while it is in the case with the strap. This strap also came with a bonus; three sets of "straplocks". These are not like the Schaller metal straplocks. They are essentially rubber washers that go over your existing guitar's strap buttons and prevent the strap from slipping off. Perhaps not as bullet proof a solution as a metal straplock but a heck of a lot easier to install and they require no modification to your guitar or strap, just put your strap on and slide the "straplock" over the button. I have had issues with metal straplocks where the screw they provide comes out of the guitar or the nut on the strap part of the straplock comes off so this may even prove to be a better solution in the long run now that I think about it, we shall see. A very smart, innovative, and easy to use strap lock option. The three included sets of easy use "straplocks" are a really nice addition to an already great strap and mean you can lock down two of your other guitars with conventional strap buttons. Overall this strap is a great deal and I think most people will be glad they purchased it.Note: I originally purchased this at a discount in exchange for a fair and balanced review but Amazon lost it in the mail. This one was purchased at full price and is still a great deal.

Cheap feeling leather and has a terrible chemical smell that lats for months. I've had this strap for two months and it still has this awful odor. Leather outer is very thin feeling to the touch and sandwiches foam between the two thin leather strips that are stitched together. You can see the foam on the adjustment slots - doesn't make me feel like this is a quality product. Will it hold up your guitar or bass? Yes. So it gets three stars from me for simply being able to perform it's basic function. But that's it. Keep looking, there are better straps for cheaper.

Fantastic, high-quality strap. Keeps my shoulder from hurting and looks wicked doing so. Exactly what I had in mind when I went looking for a supportive leather strap. Included strap "savers" are a nice bonus.Update: Just bought my third of these for my third guitar. Great straps that last forever.

Great guitar strap for my Martin HD-28 acoustic. No metal parts to scratch the guitar. Comfortable to wear for an extended gig.

This is my second review of this product and everything I stated earlier remains the same. I have purchased 4 of these straps. My grandson plays bass and guitar and these straps can be adjusted for a 12 year old boy as well as an adult. They are well made and comfortable. We both love them. We also have an Epiphone double neck guitar (6 and 12 string). It is relatively heavy, but this padded strap is comfortable enough to use with the heavier guitar.

Two things: At a casual read, and with the "SoThereUSA.com" tag, I assumed that this strap was, in fact, made in the USA. It's not: Mexico. But the second thing is, there is an incredibly strong chemical odor to this strap -- no joke. It's intolerable. I'm letting this strap sit in a covered outdoor area, to outgas, but if it doesn't will have to return.Otherwise, it's a good value and I'd give the strap 5 stars, but the odor presumably from the leather treatment, really needs to be addressed.

The strap is very well made and comfortable, but it has a really strong chemical odor that makes my eyes water, so I can't use it. I've had the thing hanging in my basement for the last week; I'm hoping it will offgas enough so that I can stand to have it near me. It's a shame because it really is a nice strap.
