Factory primed white ready for your paint. 18 Inch OD x 3 3/5Inch ID x 1 7/10 Inch How to Install the Polyurethane Ceiling Medallion1.Turn off the power to the ceiling fan or light fixture at the breaker or fuse box. 2.Remove the cover plate on the fixture, and take a picture of the wiring. 3.Use an electrical tester on the wires to make sure the power is off, then disconnect the wiring and remove the fixture from the ceiling. 4.Cut the medallion solid center and trial fit the ceiling medallion to make sure it fits around the electrical box. 5.Apply polyurethane based construction adhesive to the back of the ceiling medallion. 6.Center the medallion over the electrical box, and press it against the ceiling. 7.Pull the medallion slight off the ceiling to allow air into the adhesive. 8.Press the medallion firmly back against the ceiling. 9.Reinstall the ceiling fan or light fixture and attach the wiring. 10.If needed, caulk around the medallion and paint it.

A Great Idea and Attractive
In the process of having a ceiling fan installed in my dining room, my ceiling was slightly damaged. In repairing the damage, the irregularity was still apparent. I just happened to stumble across this on Amazon and thought I would order it to cover up the damage. It looks much nicer than the picture on Amazon. It's a flawless casting. I realized that this ceiling medallion is highly decorative and can be used for more than just covering up some ceiling damage. Of course, I will have to take down my ceiling fan, drill out the center of the medallion and re-mount the ceiling fan. The collar on the fan will hold the medallion in place, but I am going to apply some construction adhesive to the back of it when I install it. This would be much easier to do prior to installing the ceiling fan. If you are installing this on an existing fan or fixture, please note that this will require you to completely unhook your fan, including the electrical wiring. If you do not know how to do this, you will need to hire a qualified electrician. The trick is to do this during the initial installation. After seeing this medallion, I will purchase several more for my other ceiling fans. This really is an excellent idea and an extremely attractive product, as well as being light weight, durable, and able to paint. Plus, this is half the cost of comparable products on Amazon. If you plan on putting in some ceiling fans or indoor light fixtures any time soon, I would definitely recommend purchasing some of these. I'm looking forward to getting this installed. It's going to look great.

Tulip Looking Ceiling Medallion
I bought this tulip looking ceiling medallion because we had changed the old light in the bedroom to a ceiling fan light and there was still a ring of the old pink paint color underneath the white ceiling paint that showed since the cup for the ceiling fan was smaller than the original light. This pattern is simple, elegant and does the job of covering up that pink ring without having to repaint the whole ceiling. We have tons of other DIY projects to do before painting the ceiling so this put an elegant touch to the ceiling with the medallion. The medallion is simple to use, doesn't have to be glued to the ceiling & in our case, the fan holds the medallion in place. It is paintable in whatever color you choose and can add an elegant touch to your ceiling. It was easy to cut to fit the ceiling fan and we are very happy with the end result. I will probably buy more for the other ceiling fans in our house. I recommend this product. It's much easier to buy the medallion without the pre-cut hole so that you can size it to your specific needs.

Many uses
I purchased this medallion to cover an exposed ceiling cut out for my electrical junction box. I wanted a way to access the junction box if necessary without having to cut a new hole in the ceiling drywall. This medallion worked perfectly. I used a contractors adhesive on the outer edge and used painters tape to hold it in place while drying. To remove if necessary, I will score the outer edge and gently pry the medallion off to access my junction box. I am very pleased with this product and would purchase it again.

It is very light weight.
The PU moulding is exactly what I needed except when the measurement of 18 inches is finished, you actually only have 16 inches that it will cover. I wanted to use this to cut a hole in the ceiling and use this to cover but I was hoping for a 16 inch hole but can only cut a 13 inch hole to cover it properly.It is sturdy and light weight.

Exactly what I needed to cover up oversized hole for new ceiling fan at great price
I like the simple design. Lightweight, easy to work with and to cut hole for ceiling fan box. Easy to paint or could probably even leave the original white color or do a stain treatment. Great price. Would recommend.

we have received the medallion but it has not yet been installed. we are building a new home and can't waitto see it in our foyer. it is a very beautiful piece of architecture. we are glad to always support thesmall business owner!

Solid product
This is a well made product it is a solid piece of hard foam with clean formed design. It will not deform or warp when pressed against the ceiling with a light fixture
