A stunning brand new progressive rock album from a group formed from "past masters" LYNDEN WILLIAMS (Jerusalem/The Britz), GEOFF DOWNES (Asia, Yes and Buggles), NICK D'VIRGILIO (Tears for Fears/Spocks Beard). Why the name Deckchair Poets? Lynden said "It was obvious from the fun nature of Pyjamas songsthat they could not be released under the Jerusalem banner and a new name was needed...

Better than the band name, album title or artwork would suggest
A mixture of rock ‘n roll, ecological and other themes interspersed with very silly short pratting about tracks, on subjects ranging from toilets to fridges. This is almost the modern equivalent of ‘The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band’.This was the band’s chance to portray their lighter side. While the subject matter on their ‘proper’ tracks range from the very serious to the very light-hearted, they fellas really know their business and can play extremely well when they want to. This is evidenced by their main job with the band ‘Jerusalem’, which is best listened first, before this side project. Not a ‘must have’, nor bin-worthy, but one for a time when you want something a little different.Track time: just over 49 mins.

A Plastic Tree!
I'm not really one for listening to lyrics, but I can only agree with the other reviewers, there's some great (and very British) humour in these songs. Even if you ignore the lyrics, the songs are catchy and well constructed and are littered with keyboard solos, for which I'm a bit of a sucker. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it's been on constant play since I first stumbled across it.
