I’m a huge lover of foreign cinema and this film knocked my socks off with its incredible performances and eerie tale. See this film with a strong stomach and stronger heart- it will change your perspective in more ways than one. Definitely one of Miike’s best films and another home run for Arrow Video. Highly recommended- especially with its lush new transfer and brilliant assortment of newly commissioned special features.

The Japanese horror movie Audition is really good and scary. It has a really good story and cast. Audition is one of the best horror movies that I have seen that even thought I want to look away at times I just can't! I really like this movie and will want to watch it over and over again. I am a fan of international horror movies! I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of horror movies! The Blu-ray case and disc are in great condition. The Video, Audio, and English subtitles work great!

In this nail-biting thriller from prolific Japanese auteur Takashi Miike, a mild-mannered widower holds a fake casting audition in hopes of finding the woman of his dreams only to discover that his budding romance may be leading to a nightmare. This film cleverly brings your guard down so well yet you inevitably find yourself gasping for air as the suspense continuously builds. This is a film that still leaves me squirming in fear.

This film takes it's time. If you're a huge gore fan and you hear about this movie don't expect too much. This film is fantastic though and a big changer in Japanese cinema pushing the boundaries during it's time. If all you care about is gore skip to the last 15 minutes of the movie but if you want to learn about the story (which is fantastic) and learn and care about these characters then I suggest watching it all. Truly a great film and one that has an impact in history.

Arrived in perfect condition. The film is delightfully horrific and the film-grain looks wonderful in high definition. Arrow delivers.

First of all, for those of you who have already seen the film and are looking to purchase a copy for your home collection, the quality of the disk reproduction is first rate, both audio and visual.As for the film itself, it was a letdown. Without giving away too much plot let me just say that I thought the ending was a bit too "artsy" for my tastes, not too gory, too artsy. After all the buildup I was left unimpressed.

Audition is a film I have been hearing about for well over a decade but had never watched. It often times comes up on lists for the most shocking and disturbing films ever made. Since I do love shocking, disturbing and extreme horror I decided to make a blind buy with this new Arrow Blu-ray release. Over all I found the film to be a beautifully well made movie that held my interest but in the end I didn't find the climax all that shocking or disturbing, especially when there are films like A Serbian Film, Trauma and many others for people who are into the extreme horror. This is more of an art house, slow burn horror comparable to something like The Witch or Lars Von Trier's Anti-Christ. Certainly worth aa watch it you're a fan of horror and I'm pleased to add it to my collection but I'm sure it isn't for everyone.

This movie is probably the best J-Horror film to date!

This is a really good movie. It's a slow burn. but then takes you on a wild ride. It's very well directed and the acting is good. The Blu Ray is good with very good special features but for the large price, a booklet would have been nice!
