Good short/medium sized grains
A nice medium grain rice. I would prefer a short grain but those are incredibly expensive, this brand is great value for grains that are also relatively short too. Very delicious and easy to prepare. The bag came in good condition with no damage.

Fabulous. Not kidding.
I was introduced to Calrose a few years back, and though I love my basmati, when I want sticky or sushi style rice this is my go-to. Absolutely phenomenal. You won’t regret it. Just follow the directions and damn-it don’t use a rice cooker. Those things are stupid.

Just okay
If you didn't purchase this for sushi but instead as an all-around rice (as I did) be warned that this rice is starchy and needs to be rinsed over and over until the water runs clear. This is not a particularly fast process and even with heavy rinsing this rice has a gummy consistency that isn't very pleasant. It will, however, do in a pinch when it's difficult to find any rice at all during the pandemic. The price is certainly more than reasonable. Cooking it with low sodium chicken or vegetable stock helps. It turns out fine in my rice cooker. Adding some steamed vegetables to it seems to break up the gummy consistency a bit. Will I continue to buy this when rice becomes more readily available? Probably not. Am I glad I'm able to procure it now? Sure. It's not my favorite but it's certainly edible.

Perfect
Being from Hawaii, rice is a staple in our home. After moving to another state it was hard for me to find sticky rice, let alone rice that cooked well and was good. Thank God for amazon lol! This brand is awesome and for the price? You can't beat it. It's sticky, doesn't have that grainy dirty or weird plastic taste that some others do. It's perfect for fried rice and sushi as well!

The Botan Musenmai Calrose Rice is a very good quality rice. It is very tasty rice that is easy to cook and has a great texture. I use it in all of my rice recipes.
