This is a review for the Hi9 Air however the Hi9 Pro has the same hardware and issues and Amazon have disabled reviewing for the Hi9 Air for some reason despite promoting it as "Best rated"....HmmmmmI bought this item while on an extended trip after doing my research, substantially influenced by the reviews on here (I buy a lot from Amazon) and on paper it does exactly what I want it to and I so wish it worked correctly.Externally it's well made (the naff plastic top edge cover aside, which knocks off far too easily) and the screen QHD. However a day later after initial setup and we are already searching the forums for fixes to quite serious system bugs after installing all available updates.The issues all seem software related and well known by Chuwi. Significantly, the tablet frequently gets really, really hot and the CPU runs at 100% when it's doing nothing at all after some light use and flattens the battery in under an hour. A quick search online and another day testing revealed that these issues affect many of Chuwi's devices.Several reboots and another afternoon testing and I have found that with a SIM in the tablet the CPU cores all max out and stay like that until reboot. 5 min after reboot and more use it has done the same again. With 4G enabled it fails to make or receive calls, the 4G reception is really really bad (3 bars less than my phone). The OS is choppy, colours are badly over saturated and MiraVision doesn't appear able to do anything to correct the display issues, (another long known issue). The display is not correctly configured to work with Apps and 10" so despite the claimed resolution they appear jaggy displaying a much lower resolution, particularly video (BBC iPlayer) is poor and skipping frames.. Chuwi know all this already but not fixing it or replying to support requests even. As it is I am not able to say it would even be useful as a house brick.For a comparison my well loved 2 year old quad core Lenovo A10-70F with half the ram, a quarter of the rom and 1/3rd of the processing power still runs and looks better.Without the overheating/battery drain and colour balance issues it could be lived with. If the 4G reception was fixed and the OS optimised it could be a great value tablet. As it is it just performs like a bug riddled alpha test product taken to market well before it was ready and I'm very reluctantly (I SOOOO wish it worked right) having to try and return it or just write it off. A very great shame. Please Chuwi deal with what are software issues and poorly implemented hardware and have your budget tablet work as it should. A nice well made tablet, very good screen, the CPU is fast enough for most uses and the battery is better than expected. I have tried the 4g but the tablet gets quite warm so I normally leave the 4g switched off and switch it on when needed. I paid £99.99 from Amazon making this very good value for money.

We were looking for a reasonably priced but quality tablet to part of a customer-visible display. This tablet ticked all the boxes, and has proved to be an excellent purchase
