Super easy to use, great customer service
I'll start off by saying, I am not tech savvy at all and I haven't owned a karaoke machine since back in the day when you had to use a cd in the machine and use a bunch of cables to hook it up to your tv. So when I saw that they were all bluetooth now, my head started spinning. BUT, I bought it anyway, and as long as you can look up a song on your phone on youtube that you want to sing and type 'karaoke' after the title, it just works! If your bluetooth is on and it finds the karaoke machine when it's on then the karaoke music comes through (The very strong) speaker and your voice comes through the speaker via the microphones. Easy peasy. So my kids were happy doing it through the smart phone which you can easily stick in the included holder (and I have a plus iPhone, so it's big). But i wanted the words to project on our tv, so I rolled it into our big tv room and just looked up a youtube karaoke song on my roku tv and was able to play the song through the tv, without using bluetooth, and in that case, you can just hear the karaoke music through the smart tv or I guess a computer or laptop and then just sing through the microphones. So in that case, the singing comes through the karaoke machine and the karaoke music comes through the TV speakers (which we have on surround sound). It sounded great, and with the spinner light, it was like a party in the whole room! I'm sure there's a way to run the tv sound through this karaoke speaker from a smart tv but like I said, I'm not that tech smart. Also, the customer service is top notch! I had trouble with one of the mic's working about a month after I got it and they were super prompt about addressing my concern and were able to replace the faulty microphone within a few days. Outstanding service, and outstanding product. We love it, and it also works great as just an amplifier that my kid hooks up his keyboard to with a cord. But don't ask me how... Highly recommend this karaoke machine!

Pretty good, for what it's for
One thing I want to get out of the way first to avoid potential Christmas surprises: According to the documentation, this device must charge for 8 hours before its first use. It apparently isn't designed to run directly on external power - the manual only refers to the AC port as a way to charge the battery. I don't know whether failing to give it that full initial charge period would be harmful to the battery, or if there's some other reason for this guidance. When I plugged it in, the battery indicators showed it "fully charged" after only 2 hours, but I decided based on the manual not to take any chances of messing the thing up, and so we had to forego letting the kids sing some Christmas carols to break it in.Point being - if you give it as a gift and might want to be able to use it on the occasion where it's given, then you would want to charge it up in advance, at least according to the docs.So moving on... I haven't had time to fully test all of this product's features; but having gotten a look at the basics - i.e. playing a karaoke track and singing with it - I wanted to go ahead and get my initial impressions recorded. If the "bells and whistles" make a significant impression, I'll be back with an update. My biggest criticism of this system is that the documentation is lacking. If you're not familiar with this type of karaoke system, it could be rather confusing - though it's not at all hard to use if you understand it.So first, what is this system not? It is not a professional system; it's at the somewhat fancy end of the range of "home" karaoke systems. Also, it's not really concerned with handling the display of lyrics - which I'll admit puzzled me a bit at first (more on that shortly). So ok... what is it? It's a combination of a wireless mic system, a simple mixer with a couple additional inputs plus an echo effect and EQ built in, an amp/loudspeaker, a digital recorder / playback device, and an LED light show.(It also has a couple more minor features. There's a built in FM radio if you want to sing along with a song on the radio. It has a little stand for holding a phone or small tablet, which is potentially useful if that's your music source.)Now, as an occasional musician who's worked with components that perform each of those functions, none of it screams "karaoke" to me; the audio without lyrics and the graphic to show the lyrics are the part I've always associated with karaoke, and that's the part this system doesn't provide. BUT, if you have a smart phone, tablet, or smart TV, then what this system DOES provide are all the missing pieces to be able to perform and/or record karaoke at home, in a single package that's not too expensive and not difficult to operate.Pairing it to a phone via bluetooth proved very simple - which was a pleasant surprise after previous hassles I've encountered with bluetooth pairing of various devices. To the phone, it just acts like a bluetooth speaker at that point; whatever sounds the phone plays goes into the "music" channel of the mixer. So from there, if you want the "feel" of a karaoke show, you might want a karaoke app for your phone - but it'll work just fine with the karaoke versions of videos that you could find on YouTube. The video will show the lyrics on the phone screen and play the instrumentals, which are then mixed with your mic inputs and played through the speaker. And there you go - karaoke.I need to play around some more with the mics and the related audio controls. For the wireless mics they provide, it seems you have to get right on top of them to drive them at all. It has a jack for a corded mic as well, and I'm curious to see how it works with some other types I have; but in any case, if you understand how they want you to sing into them, the wireless mics do sound fine. That said, I did have to keep the mic volume maxed out to hear my voice. In general, I'd say it isn't "professional grade" for any of the functions it performs - but then you're not paying professional prices for those features, either. For something you'd let kids play with, it fits the bill. (Well... that may depend on the kids. Maybe I should say "with appropriate supervision"... if you want to leave it alone with a typical 6-year-old, maybe a model designed specifically for kids would be a better choice...)One last note for now: it's a small thing, but I want to mention the battery charge indicator. It's something a lot of devices get "wrong" from the perspective of a legally blind (and colorblind) user like myself. The charge status is show with a single multi-colored indicator - which is dangerous territory - but the colors in question are red (charging) and blue (fully charged), which at least to my eyes are very distinct. So I was reasonably happy with this detail.

Microphones Are Problematic- Protection Plan is a must!!!
TL;DR- mics will be a problem, please get the protection plan when you buy this product!I was so excited to purchase (in early March 2021) and use this machine, and it worked great for a couple of months. Then I started having issues with the mics not working (around mid-May 2021), even with fresh batteries. I am currently waiting for Karaoking to respond to my request for new or replacement mics, and I will update this review when this issue is resolved.Update: Karaoking is only replacing one microphone for me- I really wish I had purchased the protection plan when I bought this machine!!The item comes with a minimally detailed "manual" and it says stand at least 1.5 to 2 meters away from the machine when using the microphones, so maybe if you follow that rule of thumb, your mics will last longer?

Warning: Don't Risk a Fire! Beware of This Product!!!
After owning this product since 2020, I must caution potential buyers against it. Recently, the device abruptly stopped working and started emitting SMOKE from the speaker, like it was about to blow up, which is a significant safety concern! The smell was awful and probably toxic! The thing was about to catch on fire! Also, the karaoke feature has been dysfunctional for two years, leaving me to use it solely as a music speaker.I cannot recommend this product to others, and I will be disposing of it through an electronic recycling center to prevent any further risks.

I was worried it wouldn’t be loud enough, oh it is and then some! You can Bluetooth it to your tv (if your tv has Bluetooth of course) and away you go with a whole world of karaoke tracks on YouTube!! Great quality sound and the lights are fabulous too… Buy it now, don’t hesitate;-D
