Scarpetta Pasta Lovers Gift Box, 19.8-Ounce Jar (Pack of 4)

These are probably my favorite "jarred" pasta sauces. Yes, they cost a little more than others, but the quality is exceptionally good. I especially like the "gift box" 4-variety package the best and have it on Subscribe & Save.You get one jar each of puttanesca, arrabbiata, marinara, and vodka -- each has a distinctive flavor, all are excellent. I'm single, and I can usually get 3-4 meals out of each jar. I've used it to make lasagne, baked penne w/ mushrooms & sausage, even as a sauce for pizza and calzone.The arrabbiata is slightly spicy -- not overly so, just enough so that you notice a bit of a "bite." The puttanesca is slightly briny with the taste of capers/olives; the vodka sauce is typically creamy (but not *too* much so) and the marinara is a good basic tomato-y marinara. I like them all, but my favorite is probably the puttanesca.One other nice feature -- you can wash and reuse the plastic containers! They're heavy duty plastic, safe in microwave and dishwasher.I've tried a lot of "off the shelf" pasta sauces and these are my favorites. Will continue to order as long as Amazon carries them.

I really enjoyed the gift box and being able to try a few different flavors from this company. Unfortunately, after I ordered my first one, they stopped having the gift box on subscribe and save. Glad I got my first one in!The vodka sauce is my absolute favorite. It was exceptional all by itself and needed absolutely nothing from me to enhance it. I served it over tortellini and it was SO good.The marinara is tangy and full of great tomato flavor and seasonings. I used it to make lasagna and it's one of my best yet.I now have sub & save orders for the vodka sauce, marinara and barely bolognese sauces for different things I make. I look forward to each shipment with anticipation like a kid getting toys in the mail. I have had absolutely no issue with shipping, they all seem very well packaged to me and come fully sealed in durable containers.

The flavors are good, the packaging awesome, and the ingredients make me feel good about buying these sauces. There is no doubt that I, and others, can make a superior sauce at home. But this is on my shelf when in a pinch. When it is getting late and dinner is becoming more and more of a problem, one of these sauces and a bit of left over protein, and a nice package of noodles gets my family through the meal. If I've got a teensy bit more time than that, the sauces can make a great base for further additions - like using the Puttanesca as a base for an osso buco slow cooked in the oven. (Incidentally, chock full of delicious capers!!!) Very pleased that these are a part of the subscribe and save program.

I like the taste of this sauce. It is much better than the cheap supermarket brands. I am not quite sure that it is as much better as the price is higher. I usually use a bought sauce as a base for a semi-homemade sauce or soup. I did use this sauce as it came on pasta for a quick supper. It was pretty good. I am not sure if I will continue to order this. I will decide after trying all 4 flavors.

This sauce is more expensive at my local Fresh Market which is why I ordered it from Amazon (I have Prime). I was totally impressed with the packaging and the short list of fresh ingredients. This is like sauce i would make myself and it boasts right on the jar that you can heat it and dive right in with a spoon which is no lie - it is that delicious. I will always have it hand - going to use the subscribe feature. i especially like the combo pack of four different sauces. My favorite though is Marinara, though the CTuscan Vodka is excellent too - actually they are all first rate, like the best sauce from your favorite Italian restaurant. You will not believe this is from a jar. I recommend it not only for pasta but to use in cooking as well, the marinara would make great chicken cacciatore. If I could i would marry this sauce.

I hate grocery shopping and when I have to do it, I like to bring everything in in one trip so the more I can buy online, aids in accomplishing this goal. I am also extremely forgetful so buying food online, less I have to remember. Considering this, I was looking for all the refrigerated food I buy online and stumbled on these. I read the good reviews and decided to try them and I am glad I did.They taste great. I liked that I was able to buy this pack and sample several of them before buying a pack of sauce I might not like and go to waste.I like the simple packaging. I hate throwing stuff away and love that I can reuse the container for other things. Currently, one is being used to carry my dogs food for overnight travel.As far as the taste, they all taste good to me but my favorite is the arrabbiata sauce. I saw that it didn't have the best reviews but, personally, I loved it.

I have to say thank you. While I am saying thank you I am eating a plate of pasta with your Marinara Sauce. I feel so strongly about your sauce that I had to get on the computer in mid bite to write this review. It is so delicious, I was ready with my extra seasonings as I usually am when getting a pre made sauce. I didn't need it at all, not one bit. I am so happy to find such a delicious, home made, fresh, healthy sauce to go with my pastas. I truly appreciate your product and I will be ordering again and regularly. I cant say enough about this sauce except that I am going to stop typing because I need to get back to my plate of pasta with Scarpetta Sauce and yes I have my bread ready.

Sorry, I don't know what the hoopla about this sauce is, because its not really that good. Sorry I plugged down the money for this soso sauce. Jarred sauce no matter what you spend just cannot beat the homemade stuff. Never can, and never will even when it comes from a place like Scarpetta.
