It is impossible to assemble this bed. Movement mechanism does not work at all. The bed’s frame details do not fit together.

I was quite surprised to find that this is a very well designed, manufactured, and packaged platform bed. The lift mechanism seems to very adequate to do its job and the materials should hold up primarily due to the well-considered design elements that promote unit strength and integrity. This is the only DIY KD kit I've ever encountered that has exactly the right amount of fasteners with none left over. And, be forewarned, each fastener must be used and placed as instructed to achieve the best results. This is somewhat important because some machine screws of different lengths will fit where they don't belong and eventually create a problem - it will still work but, I doubt the result will be as good as if it was first done properly. Personally, I would prefer that the platform would be a foot higher both for more storage and comfort. The descriptive information says you don't need box springs but I used mine simply to raise the bed's level so I didn't feel like I was climbing off the floor when getting up. And last, ideally, I would like to be able to more easily use another headboard. While the upholstered one that comes with this bed is quite good, I prefer the bookcase headboard I've used for years. The screw in attachment system used to attach a headboard in this system adds significant strength and stability to the bed but it's difficult to transfer to another choice. Bottom line: this is a very well made bed well worth the price.

I am glad I took a chance on this bed. If you are handy and like a small project, you will enjoy assembling this bed. I did not have any missing hardware or any left over hardware. The shock mechanisms work well, even with a foundation and top mattress on it. Also, there was more room underneath that I thought there would be. Others sell for $100 to $200 more.

My son loves his bed and it was easy to put together. he think its cool the way it lifts.

If I had my wish about this bed I would of made the storage part deeper. The bed is really low to the ground. I didn't think about it when I ordered it. It would of been great to have at least 5 or 8 inches more for better storage. I have back problems and the bed is really low to the ground.

The product is good, but the instructions for ensemble are totally wrong, it took us a lot of time to put it together, we have to figure it out by ourselves to put this together.

I would say that it is fairly easy to assemble. It took me 4 extra steps to put it together but that's my lack of attention to detail and not the products fault. After completion, it's exactly what I expected and it's rather easy to put the bed up and down.
