The new Murali Coryell CD Sugar Lips with special guest stars Larry Coryell and Joe Louis Walker also features Reese Wynans on Keyboards and Steve Mackey on Bass and was produced by Grammy nominated Producer/Songwriter/Drummer Tom Hambridge (Susan Tedeschi, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter). Acclaimed by CNN, Rolling Stone, & The New York Times, singer/guitarist/songwriter Murali Coryell is a rising force in contemporary American music. The son of jazz guitar legend Larry Coryell and author/actress Julie Coryell and grandson of TV, film and stage actress Carol Bruce, Murali is a natural born entertainer. Murali is blessed with a voice that has been called soothing and soulful and has a guitar style to match.

Sugar Lips Murali Coryell
I've been a fan of Murali's music for awhile now. There have always been a number of highlights on each recording. The new CD is almost nothing but Gems throughout. From the opening notes I new that this one was something special. Blues,Rock,Funk, & Soul, it's all here. The music is tight with flawless production. Murali gets a boost from guest's (Dad )Larry and Joe Louis Walker, however he is in command in every respect. The three tracks with Walker are some of my personal favorites. There seems to be a chemistry going on, more than you get from a typical guest artist. I like the ballads I Could've Had You, and his heartfelt tribute to his mother Julie ( Mothers Day ). There is little not to be excited about here. Hopefully for Murali and many of his fans, this is the recording that breaks him out to a much deserved larger audience.

murali who??
i must confess that i had never heard of murali coryell until i saw a article in the local paper that he would be at a nearby club...i bought this cd on the strength of the back-up guitar slingers larry coryell(dad) and joe louis walker two of the best guitarist around...the cd starts off with a rousing three songs with murali showing that he has more than ordinary blues chops and that his band is tight as can be with a up-tempo horn section..unfortunately the only other songs that shine are the ones his dad or joe louis walker carry with their exceptional but taken for granted guitar playing...murial seems to fall into a soupy sentimentality especially on the tribute to his mother.."mothers day"...i like the cd especially if you just download the 5 or 6 songs that excel

Worth listening too
A wonderful new CD from a local musician. Murali Coryell puts together some great tunes with the help of a great backup band and great guests. The title tune is smoking. The song written for his late Mother will tear at your heart. A good blend of styles. Well done.

Great Music poor vendor
The Music was great I am pleased with the selection...The Problem is EVERY time I get Cd's from Amazon the Jewel case is always broken, sometimes crushed. Amazon needs to make sure whoever fulfills there music orders know how to pack cd's to be shipped.

Murali Coryell, Sugar Lips Album... The Best Blues You Haven't Heard Yet
I didn't know who he was until I saw him at the Tampa Bay Blues festival in April 2010. He was performing with Joe Louis Walker. Totally awesome... everyone in the band, the music, everything. He stayed around afterwards and I bought this album, had him autograph it, and then took a picture with him. Murali is a very cool and down to earth guy. I loaded the album into my iTunes and then onto my iTouch. I cannot get enough of it. I play it all the time in my car. The best songs are "Blame It On Me", "What Are You Going To Do About Me", "Sugar Lips", "Closer To You Baby", "Still Rockin'", and "Minor Funk" (duet with Joe Louis Walker). Lots of guitar, organ, and harp. Terrific blues album all the way around.
