It blows, lol. Works well. I put it on a timer to save electricity over time. It kicked on and off every half hour.

My system is set up to run 24/7 and these motors seem to just get hot when they are coved up and running that har…The second time I replaced the pump I build a 3 sided air vent from a set of old French doors and that seemed to help cut down on the heating but I still lost the motor after a couple years may 3 years I’m not sure. This time I installed a timer letting the motor run about 45 minutes and rest for 15 minutes. The motor runs a little warm but not as hot as before. Plus I’m saving about 6 hours of run time a day. It’s been running a little over a year with this setup and I’m not having any issues.

The physical dimensions are about the same as the "stock" air pump it replaced. Some reviews state that the pump is loud, but the one I got doesn't seem to be any louder than the much more expensive model it replaced. Setup was easy enough, although the cord has a standard plug on the end, and my system is hardwired; nothing some cutters and wire strippers couldn't solve. This pump does seem to generate a fair bit of heat, but I never paid any attention to the original pump so perhaps a little heat is normal. There are a few things that are obviously cheaper than the original pump like the barely adequate filter; but it has been working just fine for the last couple months. Time will tell. But provided it doesn't suffer a catastrophic failure, the rebuild kit is less than a third what it is for the original pump.

Product received in what appeared to be a pre opened box and wrapped in excessive amounts of tape. New item????? Anyway if new, used or defective the product failed within hours of operation. Definitely will not buy from seller again, which also hurts the manufacturer because this is a product I will also not buy and could not recommend. Lesson learned on my part, package looks suspicious and item condition is questionable send it back. Luckily Amazon makes returns easy.

It's the perfect replacement for my old broken one. The only issue is the supplied rubber elbow does not fit the barbed hose adapter. It fits over the housing, though, and is air tight. Otherwise, it's a good pump.
