We have large 5th floor sliding windows, which are impossible to reach all the way across from the inside. Since some of the sliders overlap when they are open, it is impossible to reach all of the outside surfaces of some windows unless they are all closed, which means there is no way to clean them from the inside. This product worked great for our situation. We opened the windows just enough to thoroughly wet down the outsides, reached the outer half of the unit around to the outside of each of the windows, mated it with the inner half, and then closed the windows so that there was no overlap among the sliders. With this system, we could use the unit to squeegee the whole surface of all the windows, one at a time. Follow up with the included microfibre cloths, and the finished product is pretty good. Not quite as perfect as if you could access the whole window inside and out with a professional window cleaner, but we do not have that option.Some important tricks that we learned: 1. People have complained that the device broke or damaged their windows when the magnets pulled the two parts together on the glass. DO NOT allow the two parts to approach each other from directly opposite sides of the glass. This is how people broke their windows, and blamed it on the product. Place the outside half against the glass, then place the inside one against the glass at least 8 inches away. Then slowly slide them together along the glass until they match up; this way there is no impact against the glass. THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS, since it would have easily prevented the broken window issues people had. 2. Learn how to do a proper S pattern to squeegee the glass. Some video reviewers had no clue how to do this during their demonstrations, even though it was mentioned in the instructions, which will result in leaving streaks. 3. Hold the inner unit by the base as you move it around the window. If you hold it by the top which is more natural, it will tend to tilt the inner unit and break the magnetic connection. Loosing the magnetic connection this way is another common cause for complaints, and should be addressed in the instructions. 4. When you are making the return curves in your S pattern at the edges of the windows, take your time to carefully follow along the edge of the frame. If you bump against the frame, it may knock one of the halves enough to break the magnetic connection. I sometimes knocked the connection loose on one set of magnets, but the other set always held until I could realign the separated set. 5. We bought the more expensive D4 model, which has the ability to adjust the strength of the magnetic connection in order to work ideally with different thickness of windows, and the number of thermopanes in the window. This makes a huge difference, and since some of our windows are single pane, and some are double pane with a large space in between, it is important for us to adjust the unit for the type of window we are cleaning. If you have different types of windows, pay attention to this. 7. We have 8 large windows. By the time we got to the last window, the microfibre cloths were starting to smear a little dirt. In the future, we would only do four windows at at time, and then wash and dry the microfiber clothes before doing more windows. Alternatively, just buy more clothes so that you can switch out during a job, as they get dirty.Along with the better instructions, I would suggest two other improvements to this great product: 1. In our case, the safety string is too short to reach all the way across our largest windows, so we had to do without it on those, and will eventually add a longer string. Luckily, so far so good. 2. The velcro patches at the ends of the microfibre cloths are not sewn on perfectly, so after only one use, it looks like the stitching might be weak. We will see.

We're on the 3rd floor with a fixed windows and the other opens making it really hard to clean...leaving half clean and half dirty...this device is FANTASTIC !!!!in 5 minutes I did inside and out...WOW ..my wife says now you got a new tow...ahahahahah I used it for the big sliding glass doors next..was ALOT easier then spraying and washing by hand...it has rubber squeegee's on each side..soooooooo easy to use...the magnets 🧲 are very powerful and work extremely well..perfect for my double pane hurricane 🌀 windows!!

I was excited to use this window cleaning device and unfortunately as I was testing it out, it broke my window :(. I thought I had read through all of the inserts and made my way to the instructions, but learned a hard lesson. On the insert that has the instructions, on the other side of the instructions it tells you to adjust knobs the device has. These knobs apparently tighten the grip between both components of the device, and they come dialed in to the max. As I applied both sides of the device to my window it cracked and broke it. I unfortunately live in an old house with paneled windows so now will have to pay a costly repair I wasn't expecting. I really wish the instructions would have as step #1 to loosen the knobs completely OR they already come with knows loosened completely. The way it's explained in teh inserts makes it sound like something secondary, so it's easy to glance over, especially since below it there's a "WARNING" sign for other things to be careful for.I definitely do not want to try this device on any other windows and am returning it. I hope this review alerts other folks to watch out for those knobs and hopefully don't have to go through the same issue I am.

This is a pretty good product, I have to say. Not perfect, but solves an otherwise impossible problem pretty well. My advice is to just read the directions, use the window measuring device, and just be careful and methodical when using the device, being careful not to bring the magnets together accidentally, or to have them stick to some other metal thing nearby. Definitely be aware that the magnets will be at minimum distance when you start, so loosen them up based on your window thickness, and then just carefully experiment with some easy to reach location to fine tune the magnet distance before going nuts. Then work slowly on the windows and be careful to not make the two halves move away from each other or they'll disengage.

I have recently started my own window cleaning business and purchased this item as a way to clean windows that are too high for safe ladder or pole work. The magnets are very strong and are ideal for use with various no scratch abrasive pads for getting debris off the outside of windows. After wetting both sides of the window down liberally with cleaning solutions each piece of the Glider moves easily over the glass and have enough force between the magnets to remove some really stubborn dirt and stains from the glass surface. BUT the squeegees that are integral to the design of the Glider are very thin and flimsy. This coupled with that shape and size of the Glider make it difficult to achieve a perfect finish or at least what I would feel is good enough for my customers. The top sill of the window and corners are next to impossible to squeegee off completely allow for the soapy water to drip down and dry forming streaks. All that being said the windows I have tried this on are technically cleaner and it is much safer then being on top of a ladder, but for what it costs and the amount of modification and time it takes to get the finish at least close to what I can do in other circumstances I have to give this 3 stars.

Bought this to clean my 2nd story windows on a house with a walk out basement, so really 3 stories off the ground. There is a bit of a learning curve with the magnets. You definitely have to tighten and loosen them as you go depending on if you are using the cloth or not, the thickness of the windows, and how wet you get your window. I have double pane Andersen casement windows. Definitely buy extra cloths if you have a lot of windows and don't want to wash the cloths in between. I ended up cleaning all my windows, even the ground floor windows with it because it worked so well, but the outside cloth was getting pretty dirty by the 10th window. Lol. I sprayed Windex on both sides of the glass, did an "s" move from top to bottom with just the rubber squeegee edges. Maybe I could have done this twice since my windows were really dirty, but once worked fine. Then I put the cloths on each piece, sprayed them lightly with Windex, and wiped them down again side to side, and up and down. Very happy with this purchase. I did drop the outside piece a couple of times when I added the cloths and forgot to increase the magnet, but the safety string worked and piece did not break. I love it. Everyone in my family is glad I won't be hanging out the windows trying to clean. :)

I had read some less than positive reviews so I wanted to share my own experience. I live in a New York high-rise and can barely reach outside our windows (child locks). I got this and figured I would "give it a quick try". It was a bit tricky at first, you need to pay attention to how strong you adjust the magnets, too strong and it just sticks on the outside, not enough and you're very happy to have the string tied to something. I also noticed that much like any squeegee the most important things are lubrication and the path you take with the device. My first attempt was full of streaks and the device felt like I was going to lose it. Then I soaked the window and tried again, going slowly, paying attention to the motion I was making especially near the edges so I didn't knock it off, and using a "S" pattern that overlapped the streak left from the previous pass from left to right. This worked really well and I got to the point where I would just leave it on, squirt more window cleaner out on the window and move it in place to repeat.It took a while to master but by the end I had a really nice clean window, so much so I realized the inside was a disaster, cleaned that and it really surprised me how nice it looked.I really am happy with the product right out of the package and am looking forward to doing the rest of the windows in my apartment. I would say the most important thing is slow, steady, give yourself time to get the hang of it and use lots of fluid to keep it gliding. Don't let the two devices get far apart, if they are, slow down, or adjust the magnet strength so you're not pulling too hard on the external half of the device.

Como tengo vidrios dobles, compre el modelo D-4. Despues de algunas pruebas pude lograr una limpieza en las ventanas muy buena.Como no podia mojar las ventanas por fuera, use el mismo Glider primero con un trapo con agua y luego le di un par de pasadas con un trampo limpio y con Windex para un resultado muy bueno.Hay que encontrar el modo que mas se acomode a tu situacion particular pero definitivamente funciona y se logra un muy buen resultado. Muy Recomandable

I was so hesitant to buy this because at 149 plus tax that’s a steep price. I was also discouraged by the comments saying it doesn’t work for Canadian windows so I was half expecting to buy this and return it. I’m here to say this works fantastic for thick Canadian windows and I’m very impressed with the results!! I will not be returning this.A few things to consider, firstly I know there’s many warnings about the magnetic force but it’s no joke, you need to be very careful holding it, using it, removing it etc. keeping the pieces far away from each other and never letting your fingers sit on the magnetic side.Second, It’s very important to have the window soaking wet making the pieces glide smoothly. I think some people who were unsuccessful maybe had the window too dry, causing the outside piece to fall.Also note I was using it on the most powerful setting with the knobs fully dialed in.I recommend this 100% my windows look fantastic!
