PHR Study Guide 2019-2020: PHR Certification Preparation and Practice Test Prep Questions for the Professional in Human Resources Exam

Thanks for nothing.
Easy to read for sure. They mention that the book cannot cover everything, however, I clearly blame this very "study guide" for having failed the exam (by 2 questions max).It does not mention relevant documents at all (Weingarten, Ledbetter) and it explains COBRA incorrectly, incompletely, and inconsistently. If I buy a study guide, I should not have to second guess what is written in it (that's why I pay for correct and reliable information). If it claims to be "comprehensive", I expect at least (!) that it mentions relevant acts so I could do more research on my own.If it claims to be for the 2019/2020 exams, I expect it to be up-to-date.Basically, it cost me those $30 plus an additional $350 to take the exam again.I definitely do NOT recommend this study guide, at least not without well-written back-up literature.Save your money.

Conditional review
This looks like a good study guide. The book offers a free "how to" video but before they send it they want you to post a review. So thats why im posting my review. I have not read this book and I feel as though method is why there are so many good reviews. I will update once i finish reviewing the material.

You will need more than this
Just finished taking and passing my PHR exam. I did not find this book very helpful. Good if you want a general explanation of HR concepts, but not going to provide you with the tools necessary to pass the exam.

Great overview but not comprehensive
I bought this book to prepare for the PHR test. I would recommend this book, but to be used as a supplement to other materials. The book provides a great overview of the topics and shows the updated test format and divisions. I feel that the book does not provide all the information necessary to pass the exam. I would recommend it to be used as a refresher right before the exam to highlight main topics. I used this book along with Reed's and Bogardus's study guide which is comprehensive and thick. I did ultimately pass the exam and wish you all luck in taking it!

Excellent study guide
This guide is well designed and has chapters corresponding to the five sections of the PHR exam. I appreciated the ALL CAPS text for key terms contained in the end-of-chapter review lists. My only critical feedback is that I would have liked page numbers included with the key terms so that I could look them up quickly when I need to review again. Alternatively, there could be a one-page index of key terms at the back of the book. There is already a blank sheet at the end, so one page could be used without adding pages to the total. I also appreciate the source references and the practice exam. I determined before finishing the book that I would look up the laws listed in the references so that I could more ably commit them to long-term memory before the exam.

Easy reading
Suggestion: Along with the questions, put a reference to the chapter or page where it was discussed. It took the test several times and it would be helpful (quicker) to know where to go back to study the parts I missed or that I felt I needed to reread.

Good Refresher, Not Enough Depth
I purchased this book several months ago along with an online self-paced study program. I have completed the online self-paced study program and have 35days until my exam. I figured I could read the book and use it as a final recap on all the subject areas. To be honest, I found it way too vague, if you are serious about passing your exam I would not recommend this book as the only resource to study you will be disappointed.

Easy to follow!
I am loving this guide so far! It is very easy to follow, interesting to read, and it breaks the material down into manageable sections.
