I was super happy to receive this item because one of my favorite songs of all times is on this album. This particular artist is rare as he is not on iTunes or anywhere else so I was thrilled to find be able to locate and purchase the CD from this seller!

I have always loved this guys voice and lyrics, I spoke to him on the phone once and went to a show of his. I think that he was not giving the respect in the industry that he deserves. I love to drop the top on my convertible and ride to his music.

SKIP TO MY LOU was a track that was one of my favorites and I had NEVER known who performed it....until now. This track is STILL one of my favs, HANDS DOWN! The rest of this recording is...well....FUN! The dance tracks were straight 80's life, and should be, since '83 was when this was released. However, the jewels here were the slower tracks, and since I'm a sucker for a ballad, this gave them. I'D RATHER BE GONE, CRUSH ON & YOU OWE IT ALL TO LOVE remained on constant repeat because his voice and the songs were made of love. All in all, this was a '80's trip that was worth the voyage.

My dad used to blast this album when I was a kid and I never forgot it! Now I get to surprise my dad with the CD for Fathers Day....he is gonna freak! Skip to my Lou was the best song!

Good Cd

Great CD!!

This is a nice cd from the 80's. Both singles "Skip To My Lou" & "Lovers" caught my attention immediately back then. But my timing was always off on the radio because they will never mention the name of the artist on either song (at least when I heard the radio) so imagine recording these songs on a cassette from the radio until the cassette wore out leaving me with a mystery who was that guy. 25 years later......I finally finally finally researched repeatedly until I found it. And to find out its the same artist was mindblowing. Was it Motown, the public, inside politics, that kept at least those 2 songs from being in the top 5 on the r&b charts, only Finis can answer that but when I see him live I hope to hear both of those singles at least.

Superb CD, been waiting a while for this. Outside of the big hits "Skip To My Lou" & "Call Me" they're other great songs like "Lovers,Blame It On The Night & my favorite I'd Rather Be Gone". Shout out also to Al [Earth, Wind & Fire] McKay for great production.
