Light bulb confusion solved!
A representative from Carex/Uplift Technologies contacted me within 24 hours (awesome customer service!) with a response about which bulbs to use with the Day-Light sky and how they work:This is the correct bulb for the Day-Light Sky, DLA2000BLB.There is a difference between "Kelvin" and "Lumens or Lux". Kelvin Color Temperature has more to do with the color of the light, whether it be warm (yellowish) or cool (blue). The Day-Light is 4,000 K which is almost in the middle of the spectrum, more towards warm. The light emitted from the Day-Light is measured in Lux, this is a measurement of the intensity of the light coming from the lamp. 10,000 lux is recommended, you will achieve this with the Day-Light Sky if you are approx 12 inches from the light at the right angle. The farther you move away from the lamp, the lower the lux. Also, if you use it on the lower setting, the intensity will diminish to 6,500 lux which is still therapeutic, you would just need to use the lamp longer than the recommended 20-30 minutes.

Bulbs are not strong enough, will not get to 10,000 lux
These bulbs are not strong enough. I don't know if these bulbs are defective or if they are actually just old bulbs. They produce the same amount of lux as the bulbs I bought 4-5 years ago.At 11 inches from the lamp (either with both of my old bulbs or with this "new" one), the lamp produces only around 6000-7000 lux. It is only at 7-9 inches that there is 10,000 lux. Will be returning for a refund.

Doesn't seem as bright
Doesn't seem as bright as the 3 year old lightbulb it replaced. Also seemed to have some dead spots in the bulb. It was pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for?

Works
These were a good price which is still too much. So four stars. The light definitely helps with winter doldrums.

Had to return
I bought a day light and needed replacement bulbs. They came as expected but, I ordered the wrong size. Was an easy return though!

Skip these
Bought two for my sunlamp since it had been a few years and I wanted bright new bulbs. Both bulbs I bought only partially lit up. I bought them at $30 each and now they’re $9.

Correct bulbs from the light manufacturer
The price on these bulbs was so good I was afraid they would be a knock-off. Nope, from the light manufacturers, fit perfectly and very bright.

Original equipment bulb
This is a factory equipped bulb, my wife paid $40.00 at a health store to replace it last time, with an aftermarket bulb. This is a great product at an amazing price.

Burnt out in less than 48 hours of use
We looked EVERYWHERE locally online and brick&mortar for these replacement bulbs before finally turning to Amazon. Sure enough, we found them here. They're the right ones, but I am literally sitting here in the dark writing this as they just burnt out, one right after the other. We have had them on for less than 48 hours total. Extremely disappointing.I'm hoping it was just a manufacturing defect, but my outlook is grim as it was both bulbs, BAM BAM. I'd like to replace them if possible, otherwise it's looking like the whole lamp is junk, unfortunately. Worst possible timing, considering we're getting into the dark days of Seasonal Affective depression.... Will happily amend this rating if the next ones manage to stay on. Sigh.
