The brush is what it is. It's not badger hair. You'll have clumps falling out of it. I ended up buying a new brush because it lost so much hair after the first month. The stand and the razor are nice for the price.

First, let me say that this is an excellent shave set. This is my first "open comb" razor. I have several closed comb DE razors and have been wet shaving for several years now. The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the razor I received is not the one pictured in the photos. It is an attractive and well made razor, but it is not the one pictured. I was attracted to the clean, modern design of the one in the photo and was disappointed that the one I received was different. This razor is a well made, quality instrument that provides an excellent shave. The brush is well constructed and has a good heft and feel. It produces a good lather consistently. The only other issue was that the hanging arms of the stand arrived with some minor scratches. Several of a the pieces were loose in the box; most likely dislodged from their fitted spaces by rough handling during shipping. I have used this set daily since receiving it and am pleased with it's performance. I would encourage the seller to use a photo that accurately depicts the product that will be shipped.

I received a used kit. The free Derby blades were missing a blade. Dried caked on soap on the razor. Obviously used. I did not return. Thankfully the brush was never used. Haven't used it. Not sanitary.

Probably don`t know how to shave with new shaver, cut myself to pieces.Bristles break off brush all the time ? I am sure there is a better make.

The razor tightens down and sits the razor excellent. I highly recommend switching to a safety razor if you sensitive skin. Having shaved with electric, mutile-blade disposables, and a straight razor I can say safety razors are my preferred way to shave my face. While I can't say that about my bi annual head shaving, which I use my straight razor for I will definitely try it out this year. I can say that after shaving 4 to 5 times with in the last week I have never had any razor burn, hair pulled out, or nicks due to seated razor. It is a superior shaving tool which costs significantly less to refresh blades than other disposable methods.The boar hair brush, after following the instructions that came in a courtesy email from Ambroley, applied lather easily and effectively. Unlike previous natural hair brushes I have purchased online, this lost a minimal amount of hair after the first cleaning.Overall I have been impressed with the product and the packaging in which it was shipped.It is simple and straight forward, but not cheap in its construction.

brush was terrible!!!! I put brush to trash. it stocked my sink and its loosing so much hair(brush). Brush is Waste of money!

I ordered this as a gift for my boyfriend. This was a great gift set with the stand and extra blades. The stand is easy to put together and has remained sturdy. Brush bristles are a little rough, but it is not a deterring factor. We have not found that the product rusts at all in the time we have had it.

Love this Kit. Very well made, high quality. Love having the stand it makes my shaving area nice and neat. The stand has a foam rubber non slip bottom which is a nice touch. The brush is nice and solid, good weight and feel. The boars head brush is stiff but will break in over time and use. If you are thinking of getting started in wet shaving this kit is a great place to start. I will post an update in a few months to let everyone know how it holds up.Update-9/2/2015 I have had 2 of the brushes die as in fall apart. The bristles came out of the handle, the glue failed on both. But there is a silver lining in that Ambroley's customer service is amazing and they sent me a new brush right away.
