Worked for a little bit
I was really excited to get this tape because I was tired of putting blankets over my new couch so my kittens didn't scratch it. They do use a scratching post right next to it as well, but they occasionally would still scratch the sides of the couch. It functions just like tape, but peeling off the plastic layer wasn't always super easy, but not really a problem either. I do wish there was little more given that it was relatively expensive at $13+, and it mostly seemed like regular double-sided tape.As for the results, at first, my kittens avoided the whole couch. It was great. I didn't even need to apply it to the whole couch, just the spots they were scratching at. But it's been about 2 weeks and now they don't even care. They just scratch at the places wear the tape isn't. So I just apply more, but my couch is now 80% tape.I know this isn't billed a complete solution, and I'd be fine with that if there was a lot more tape, but 3 yards isn't really a lot.

Cats Hate This Stuff
This tape is of a good thickness. Cats hate getting stuck to anything and this tape is super sticky. I just bought it again because I need to reapply. Even though it's clear you can still see it when the light hits it put what's the alternative, ruined furniture, that's what! They may still find spots where there's no tape and do a little damage but if you put in favorite spots, like those that they have to do a good stretch to reach, they'll get the message. I am reapplying because I don't trust my three to have totally forgotten to not scratch the new sofa. Oh and before I forget. If you've had tape on a piece that you've removed there will be a slight stickiness but it seems to get less so the longer it's off. But I'm going to retape. Cheers!

Very Pleased as first time user
My 4 year old cat has recently decided she likes my brand new couch to sharpen her claws on. I've tried peppermint, eucalyptus, & citrus oils & sprays to no avail.I decided to try this tape. 1 roll did only the backside and bottom of my couch but I have an extremely large couch (think love seat, standard couch, and over stuffed large chair connected). The tape does NOT lose its stickiness. I think I've gotten stuck to it more than my cat. I did remove the part that went along the bottom part of the couch as I was having a house warming party and wanted it more presentable. When I started to pull the tape off, it was really pulling the fabric on my couch and I was nervous damage would be done or a residue would be left. But nope - no damage, no residue - just a very strong hold. The tape, though clear, is noticeable but not an eye sore. And I know it looks so much better than a shredded couch.Granted I did buy nail caps to put on my cat as well, which she chews off and they are harder to maintain. But the tape is very impressive.

10 seconds to lay down, 10 minutes to remove the backing
It works. Our cats may not be getting trained; after a few weeks we removed the tape and they got all excited about scrathing their favorite spots on the rugs again. But it lasts a while, even with our robot vac rolling over it daily. So we'll just leave it on until guests come over or it wears out, then replace it if we have to.My main frustration is how hard it is to get the backing off. But I don't know what could be done about that.

This really does work
One of our cats started a hole on the side our leather sofa! We would see her often going back to that same spot making it worse. We keep our cats nails short just so these things won’t happen. However it did happen anyway! We used this tape over the 3 inch wide spot on the sofa and all along that same side just in case she started scratching elsewhere. She has never returned to scratch on the sofa. The tape really worked!!!The tape is sticky on both sides. Obviously cars doesn’t like the tacky feeling of their paws getting a little stuck on the tape. I highly recommend this product!!We also provided a cat scratching tree near the sofa. These actions have stopped this problem.

Works great!
My cats have been scratching the door jam and ruining it. I had it fixed and repainted but did not want a repeat of the problem. I put a length of this tape on the spot they normally scratch. The tape was easy to put on, flexible enough to fit in the indents of the door. The cats have not tried to scratch since it’s been up. I wish I had known about it before it cost me so much to fix!

Ruined my table
This tape did work for protecting fabric and I was very pleased with it, at first. I recently used it on a beautiful birch table to keep the kitties from eating flowers. (Yes, I did test it first on the underside of the table and it worked there with no "traffic." ) I put it on the top of the table it stopped the kitties for a few days. However, it is now impossible to get the sticky residue off the table. If anything is accidentally put on that large spot, the color from the item sticks to the residue. I've tried everything and nothing will remove it; my expensive dining room table is ruined.

better than similar products
I have tried similar sticky sheets to get my cats to stop scratching my couch in the past and this product seems to be the best out there. My cats have not scratched the couch at all since I applied the tape. Also, I really like that you can cut the strips to fit your furniture - this really helps to maximize the tape and not waste any. The roll is pretty big, so I think it will last a long time. Also, the tape is SO sticky. It sticks to my couch really well. I applied it over a week ago and it is not peeling off at all. I even used it to pull hair off of on a wool coat that was COVERED in pet hair and it worked better than my lint roller. I would definitely recommend this tape to any pet owner.

Worked perfectly !!!
This tape worked to stop our cat scratching the furniture ... bought a scratching post at the same time and he has moved onto scratching the post ... mission accomplished 😀 I was worried it would be too obvious on the chair but it was hardy noticable.

Doesn't stick to fabric
Probably okay on leather or pleather, but not strong enough adhesive to work on my sofa, which is a soft tweedy type of fabric.

Works almost immediately!
Used Houndo tape on my couch. Barely visible and easy to apply. My cat has hardly looked at my couch since. It was amazing!
