Inexpensive (Very) and handy tool to 'dial' vegetable planting info.
I love this product. It might make a great present or stocking-stuffer for a gardener, although a highly-experienced gardener probably won't use it. If you are just starting to grow vegetables, this may save you time, money, and frustration. When you open the package, the Vegetable Garden Wheel is rather unimpressive. That's okay. It's the information on the wheel that makes it a good gardening tool. It's a colorful cardboard wheel. You just turn the dial to the vegetable you are planting and you get quite a bit of handy information. It's easy to use. It tells you when to start plants indoors, when to transplant them outside, whether to locate the in full sun, part sun, shade, etc., It tells you about spacing, how much room each plant needs between plants, after thinning, and the space needed between rows/hills.I especially was pleased that it tells you approximately how many days it takes for each seed to germinate. They don't all germinate at the same rate of speed. It gives the approximate days to harvest, which has been very helpful to me, and even includes the expected height of the mature plant, whether it's carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, radishes, lettuce, melons, etc. There are 20 vegetables that you can dial up quicker than you can look them up in a book.Low price and excellent idea! You might want to get one for yourself and for a stocking-stuffer/gift for a gardener friend who is fairly new at planting vegetables.

Helpful, but needs work
This is a helpful tool for the gardener as it contains a lot of good information. However, I bought this to take to the garden as an immediate reference instead of getting one of my gardening books dirty. This tool omits a lot of information that would have been helpful to me. On this tool I wrote in planting depths, preferred soil temp at planting, companion plants/non-companion plants. I also added types of soils (pH) each plant prefers. Also, a lot of space was wasted on plants that I don't grow and left out some that I love. Overall, this is a great idea, but needs space for customization.

MORE than just women's work! BUT ...
This is a great instant reference, as far as it goes. It has been, and still is, very handy for planning my plantings. I wish that there could be more plants named, but I have interpolated some plants by their family connections. e.g., kohlrabi is in the Cabbage Family, as are broccoli and cauliflower.) It has also been of some use this year when I was planning our first TOTAL raised bed garden using square-foot suggestions. (BIG, BIG success, by the way! And for all to know, I am a 74-year-old male. I think that the name is somewhat sexist, even though the title piqued my interest.

Not just a another toy
I really like that I can take this into the garden with me. It has a coating on it that keeps it from being ruined when I use it in the garden. I love that I can take a look at it when it's not easy to get inside to all of my gardening information. It isn't a book, but it has just enough to help you through normal planting information. Space between rows, how much sun, kind of crop, space between plants or seeds. Things you may not have outside with you. It even has a lot of information on the back too. I have sat on it in the garden and it still holds up, just wipe it off and it's fine. It's a handy tool, and I like it, you will too.

cute idea - maybe as a gift for a beginning gardener - otherwise, forget it
Cute idea, but not all that practical. After buying this, I went back to using an old chart that i have used for years that has more information and doesn't move around on me. It's a cute idea as a gift for a beginning gardener, or a gardener than has everything else, if you are out of ideas. Otherwise, don't waste your money

Colorful Wheel
I purchased this because of the colorful design, intending this to go in my greenhouse. So far it has not made it outside as I keep referring to this wheel as I plan the layout for my next planing Great quality, this came sooner than I expected and was packaged well. Great product and great company to do business with!

not what I thought
I am kicking myself for not fully reading this. At first glance I thought it was a wheel with the seeds since i had searched "garden Seeds" this is just a little piece of paper with info on growing. I could have got this for free on the internet instead of wasting my $$.

Bleh....
After reading so many good reviews I thought this may be a valuable tool in planning my backyard raised-bed garden. Not the case. Information is sparse on the wheel. I wanted to love it but I just don't even LIKE it. Waste of money, in my opinion.
