Great for adding detachable cable for large headphones
I used this jack to add a detachable cable to my Beyerdynamic headphones. It works great -- very easy to solder and mount, and 3.5mm cables snap in very securely. I appreciate the black plastic trim surrounding the jack because it make for a very clean/tidy installation by hiding any cuts needed for fitment, and it also helps to slightly reduce microphonics transferring from the cable to the headphones in other types of jacks where the metal jack is mounted directly on the headphone. The only thing to note is that this jack requires a pretty large surface area to mount (compared to the flush mount jacks that secure with a mounting ring/nut), so it may be trickier to verify fitment before buying. But if it does fit, it's great!

Very nice!
Very nice. project turned out great. I am a novice at this, but... here is what I did. Took the rca cable that I needed, cut it in half. Then insert the half with the plug (which I didn't need) into this jack. I then proceeded to test each wire with the continuity tester, to see which wire corresponded to the three points on the jack. Two wires went to the top, and one on each side, soldered the ground wires together, and installed it with a touch of glue. It looks good, and the music sounds great in the car, better than my bluetooth alternative.

Worked great with a little trimming
I used this to remove the permanent cable from a set of Beyerdynamic DT 990 headphones. The stock cable is too long. I had to trim some of the extra plastic on this snap in jack and had to shorten the "wings" a little, so that the jack would snap into the headphone housing securely. The headphone housing plastic is a little too thick for this jack without a little trimming. The final results look professional and now i can use whatever length cable I want.

Well built and does what you want
This is the perfect solution when you want to add a 3.5mm jack to your vehicle. I used this to connect to my built in speakers on my truck to play music from my iPhone. This was mounted on my dashboard. What makes it perfect are the 2 ears that will hold it flush against the 3/8" hole I drilled. I had to trim the ears a bit because of the thickness of the hole. Once that was done, it created a firm hold when placed in the hole.

Good quality, relatively easy install on thin panels
Works well, good quality. Snaps into a 3/8" hole firmly (don't make it larger, though, as the overall diameter is only 1/2"). Might be tricky to get a good fit, as it depends on the panel thickness. I had to shave off some plastic from the back of a slightly thicker panel. Actual phone jack is smaller than it looks on a zoomed-in picture - perfect for mounting in a car, but pain to solder wires to.

... Snap In Jack because of its tiny size and good connection with the Gold Plating
I purchased this particular Snap In Jack because of its tiny size and good connection with the Gold Plating! Super Product and is in use and works perfectly. This is exactly what a quality jack should be.

It Works. Price is a Little Steep.
It works. I give 3 stars because it doesn't really "grip" the hole drilled in my dash. It kept pulling out when I tried to unplug the audio cable. A zip-tie on the back side fixed that. Also, the price is a little steep for what it is... but I was in a hurry and this was the only one that I could get 2 day prime on.... there are probably more cost effective options if you have time to wait for shipping.
