Although it looks like little cinnamon buns to me, it is not sweet. I would give it a medium level of heat. You don't notice the heat when you first take a bite, but you'll notice after eating a few. I think the darker swirls are made from sesame seeds, and are a little softer than the lighter dough. A nice difference in texture. I liked it a lot, and would get again.
