Easy to use, reasonable price
I am not professional contractors and do not understand a lot of theories. For me, the footing is just to enlarge the contact area to the ground, so the pressure can be disseminated and the post wont sink. I think the footing pad perfectly dose this job. If you consider that 3 piece of the small 4-inch piano caster cup (which is also made out of plastic) can hold a grand piano which is almost 1000 pound, the footing pad should be able to hold over 1000 pound, as claimed in product spec.I am buying this to rebuild the deck of my house which is 30 years old. When I dug the old post out, to my surprise, the posts were just directly buried into the ground, that is, nothing is beneath the post, no concrete footing or anything. I figure if a 4x4 post buried 2 foot deep can last for 30 years, I can't find any reason the 10 inch footing pad will fail for any reason. I buried 15 pad for my 12x30 deck and finished it all by myself, I can't imagine to finish this job alone if I were to use concrete footing.

this was a solution to possibly having a bad concrete pour
I am a DIY person and I needed to build a deck to accommodate a hot tub. With a cold winter approaching, this was a solution to possibly having a bad concrete pour. I was very happy with the outcome. My building code inspector approved it before I ordered them. Purchased 9 16-inch pads for my 6X6 posts and 3 8-inch for the 4X4 posts. Waiting on the hot tub.

Didn’t work for me
I would NOT recommend!! We ordered the footers for some temporary posts we put in our yard. My husband followed the directions and YouTube videos, but after 3 wind storms in a two week period the posts became loose. We have since removed the footers and replaced with a polyurethane mix and have seen great results. A waste of money!! There are better products out there that will actually get the job done.

Works as advertised
I built a deck with these and used 4x4s for my posts. They seem to be holding up well (no deformation or sagging).

A little more expensive than concrete pads but well worth the money.
Used for deck posts. Easier to handle than the concrete pads.
