My Kindle Fire (My...series) 1st Edition

I really wanted to love the Fire, but for my needs it's a bit too much of an entertainment tablet. Love the fact that you can access Amazon's video content and it does stream video well. Also on the plus side: It's marvelously responsive to touch, it has a slick look and feel, vibrant graphics and the price is right. Like the 7" size which fits nicely in a handbag or backpack.But: hate the lack of productivity type apps like those available both in the Apple and android marketplace. Apps with automatic sync for calendars and contacts are desperately needed to make the Fire an everyday tool. It's a shame that it will not use Google marketplace Apps. Also really dislike the home page carousel which allows virtually no customization and organization. It also needs an SD storage slot for people who travel and don't always have wifi at the ready. Can't do much if you're on a ship or sitting in an airport with a weak wifi signal, and haven't been able to download content in advance.In the end, I'm still looking for a moderately priced 7" tablet, but because of the fun features and price, decided to regift the Fire to my granddaughter.

I absolutely love, love, love my Kindle Fire H.D. I thought that I would miss the feel of a "real" book, but that hasn't been the case at all. In fact, I am reading more than ever because of the easy portability of my Kindle. The ability t adjust the page...style and size of font, contrast, etc., makes for comfortable reading. It's no problem if I forget my reading glasses, because I can just enlarge the font until I can read without effort. There are many benefits beyond reading associated with the Kindle. There are lots of games, for me and my 4- year- old grandson both. Having full access to my email while out and about is a real plus, especially while travelling. Web access is awesome to have as well, without toting a laptop computer especially...I simply carry my Kindle in my purse. I am not computer- savvy, but with time I have learned to use the Kindle quite easily. I do wish that the Kindle came supplied with a hard copy of basic instructions, though. I am disappointed in the camera aspect of the Kindle, because the camera's "eye" looks back at me, rather than out at the world...I guess it's designed for use with Skype or YouTube or the like. I know that there are apps I haven't explored yet, and I am excited to do so. Again, my Kindle Fire H.D. is the best gift I have ever received...thanks to my kids!!!

I got this as a free book and it has been very useful. Would I spend 10 bucks on it - probably not as most of the stuff is in other places, but there are a few things that it helped me out with that I needed to find and wanted at once. It was nice having it right on my Kindle and handy to use. Not sure why it is a for fee book now - commercialism at its best I guess. It is well written and has lots of good things in it if you are looking for something over and above the somewhat sketchy users guide that comes with the Kindle.

I received my Kindle Fire for Christmas. For the last 3 years I have had my Kindle2.I am more of a visual learner and I have really missed the old instruction manuals you use to get. For those too young, Yes you got actual books right in the box that would explain how the item worked and tips and tricks. And the best part was it was included FREE.Well enough nostalgia! I checked out all the books on Amazon that had been written on the Kindle Fire. I am definatly not the kind of person who just loves, as I have read others say "To Touch the book, to smell the book, to turn pages and caress the book"...(you get the idea). BUT in a case like this I much prefer to have an open book to compare step by step all the directions with the Fire right there.The color pictures are much better and clearer too,than other books out there that are only black and white,. Sometimes the black and white pictures in other books are not clear enough. This book is great. It is easy to follow. The directions are clear and concise. I learned things already that I didn't even know Fire could do.I really feel that after much comparison to and really glad I bought this one and I hope you will like it too!

The book is very well organized and gives specific details on how to maximize use of the Kindle Fire with all its functionality. This book is intended for those who have never used a tablet or those who are looking to buy a tablet and they want to know what the Kindle Fire has to offer before deciding on their purchase. The book also contains a great number of pictures and illustrations that explain in detail each step of any process or what components each screen has. Lastly the book can also be used as a reference to learn or explore unknown functions in the Kindle Fire. It will probably not teach very much things to advanced or experienced users of the Kindle Fire as the information is very basic and most of the instructions are intuitive to any user of android phones or other tablets.

I originally started with a Kindle e- reader which I still use often. I purchased the Kindle Fire HD this past Christmas.It was everything I hoped for.There isn't a day I don't use it for some reason or another. I use to use a netbook at night when I sat on sofa watching television. The kindle has taken its place.I just purchased one for my daughter and granddaughter so they can skype with me. My granddaughter is 6 and can navigate well plus it has great features for kids and parental control.I still prefer my e reader for reading books as there is less glare to the eyes but to be honest I havent really tried to change the resolution.I do wish Amazon would have sent a manual with it because for someone who has never used an Ipad, it can take a bit to learn to navigate.I love the fact that if I purchase a book I can read from either one.The only other thing I would have liked is a rear facing camera but compared to the prices of other pads This is a great buy.

I am delighted with my kindle even though I had to return it 5 times because it was not working for some reason or another. However, I have never had any problems with that. I am wheelchair disabled, and sometimes I just need to lay down during the day to rest my spine (because of an accident which required major surgery). My Kindle fire is brilliant I can do anything that a laptop can do. It is surprisingly easy to use. I also love to read and many of the books are free or they are at minimal cost. Also the apps and games are additions. Again many of them are free or at minimal cost. I REALLY LOVE MY KINDLE. Anyone with time on their hands should invest in one - it will enhance your life. If you are too tired to read it then it can also read to you (which is one of my favourite things about it). Now my sister and many of our friends have bought one as well. Angie Tunkin

Good this manly for audio books. Excellent built quality. Solid and sturdy. Good size screen. Good picture quality and good sound via speakers and also head phones.Have been using it for few weeks one and have played numerous audio books on it and it's excellent.I hane an iPad but use this as well so tend to use both but using the Kindle Fire more and more as I become more adebt at using it Amazing how mant books and audiobooks it can hold.No problem using this instead of a book. I can see me using book.Very good value for money. It's already given me hours of entertainment. Bought this as a birthday present for my wife but she hasn't been able to get anywhere near it yet!

I bought the kindle fire book and I can recomed this book if you own a kindle fire perfect it's illustration is easy to follow

this book is ok but i still don't us my fire kindle, but it did help a bit.i'm just no good with these things
