Thera-Med Headache Ice Pack Relief Band - Fabric Lined Ice Pack for Headache Relief and Migraine Relief - Works On Tension Headaches, Sinus Headaches, Minor Injuries

This band has been a godsend. I have suffered from both sinus headaches and migraines for well over 20 years. I used to wear one of those old school gel masks that covered your eyes and attached with a strap in the back. The problem with those is that the gel moved all around, the plastic was not at all comfortable and getting a tight fit was difficult. Additionally, depending on the location of pain, using it effectively anyway other than how it was designed was very difficult. I am also no stranger to using a bag of frozen peas for relief. I stumbled onto this product by accident while browsing Amazon and placed an order immediately. My headaches are unpredictable and I wanted to have this ready to go when the next one struck. Popped it into the freezer and waited. The first thing that impressed me is because of the design it is easy to lay flat in the freezer whereas the masks I used in the past seemed to bunch up and be uneven. This is one of those products that you hope you do not need right away, but alas, I first used it a few days later. When suffering from a migraine, I have pain both behind my right eye and at the base of my skull on the same side. Like someone it trying to pull a string through my head. I was able to angle the band so that it covered both areas at the same time, again something I was not able to do with previous products. The added advantage is that I was able to adjust the tightness of the band and counter pressure definitely helps me. I used the blue side against my skin first and then switched to the white side. The white side is considerable colder which gives you some options depending on your needs. The band stays cold for about 30 minutes. The only negative I have to offer is that I wish it remained cold for longer. 30 minutes was enough to provide relief, along with medication, but not long enough to wait out the headache. And, really, sometimes all you can do is wait it out. I will probably invest in one more band so that I can switch out and have more continuous coverage. It takes about 30-60 minutes to freeze again when needed. Although designed for headaches, I see potential use as a general ice pack in a pinch. It is long enough to be wrapped around a wrist or ankle at least twice in case of a strain or sprain.

Wonderful for migraines! Or hot flashes! I have two so I can rotate them! I only wish they stayed cold longer - on average, I'd say I notice the cold for about a half hour, although when I take it off and feel it with my hands, it's still cool, so I know my head has just gotten used to it. (The second one I have sprung a leak in the seam where the plastic meets the fabric, so that was disappointing. It's barely 4 months old. But I think that's the exception and not the rule. Probably squeezed it on my head when I should have adjusted the velcro strap instead.) If you have thick hair or a lot of hair, you may not notice the cold right away ... When I need a haircut, I don't feel this thing as much as when I have shorter hair, so I know that makes a difference for me. But it's a great product! I couldn't survive summer without one! (Or two!)

I've always suffered from heavy forehead sweat, a condition called hyperhydrosis. Unfortunately, I'm also a runner, and my head can sweat pretty heavily for a couple of hours after a run, even after a cold shower. This thing really helps cool my forehead down and reduce sweating. It's comfortable, and I'm glad there's a plastic side as well as a cloth side. My only problem is that this thing does not stay cold for very long. After running 8 miles and taking a fifteen minute cold shower, I put this thing on (using the colder plastic side) and set a timer for 15 minutes. When the timer went off I took it off. the plastic was warm to the touch, and the thing was no longer cold at all. I wish it lasted much longer.

I've been suffering from migraines for most of my life. While I have prescription medication I can use, there are times I can ride it out or when the medication doesn't work. I have a cool pack in my freezer, but it doesn't get cold and doesn't stay cool very long. I couldn't wait to try this on my migraines. I like that it fastens around my head and I don't need to hold it. Also, it's not wet, unlike a cold compress. It gets cold too - very cold, but still soft and moldable around your head. The band was in my freezer for about a week when I got a migraine - left temple area. When I put on the band it took a minute, then the pain went shooting through my head. Way too cold! It hurt so badly I just went to bed. However, I figured it was far too much of a temperature change - perhaps like a brain freeze? So the next time I got it out of the freezer for about 10 minutes before using it. This time, the cold was still very uncomfortable - I made it through 2 or 3 minutes, but my head hurt far worse. Unfortunately, this product didn't help my migraines at all. However, this is just my experience - I think it was worth trying.

Gets cold quick, folds up nice and doesn't take too much room. I like this style because it's cold all around the pack so the whole head is wrapped in cold. I have 2 of these and swap them out when using them and I'll get more if I have to. Velcro is strong and I've been using these for quite a while and they're holding up well. I don't notice any smell, and they're very comfortable to have on.

When I get a bad headache, my head feels hot and this product really cools you down in under 30 minutes, relieving pain and fever. I keep two in my freezer for those times and you should try it!

Having suffered from the curse of Migraines for many years, I have tried numerous cold pack remedies over the years as I sought relief from the pain. I discovered the Thera-Med Headache Ice Pack Relief Band over 5 years ago, and until the last year have been satisfied with ease of use and the results more than any other cold pack for the price. Yes, the Velcro eventually wore out and I would purchase new cold packs to replace the worn out ones. I was totally satisfied with this product for many years. However, about a year ago, my experience with the Thera-Med Headache Ice Pack Relief Band changed for the worse. I believe that the manufacturer must have changed something as my order of 3-4 cold packs began to leak after a short time. The goop that is frozen, thereby providing the cold relief, began to leak out of every item purchased after only a few uses. I figured that I must have received a bad batch, and ordered more, unfortunately with the same result. Not deterred, I eventually placed a third order, believing that if I was more gentle in my uses of the cold pack. they would last until the Velcro began to wear out. I recently began using the new Thera-Med Headache Ice Pack Relief Bands, with more unsatisfactory results. Only about one week after beginning to use the two I received in my most recent order, as I removed one of the Thera-Med Headache Ice Pack Relief Bans from my head, I noticed that the goop was leaking (again) on this brand new purchase. I know that I was especially careful with the cold packs from my most recent order, as I attempted to not relive the bad experiences from the prior 2 orders. Sadly, the goop leakage in this time happened even sooner than previously experienced. I have sadly concluded that the quality of the product has declined significantly from several years of satisfactory performance. THEREFORE, I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING THIS ITEM AGAIN!

Sufro de migrañas muy fuertes y esta banda cuando me la ponga, ayuda a mitigar el dolor. No quema a la piel. Yo lo dejo siempre en el refri para usarlo cuando lo necesito. Está bastante resistente.

I recommend this item for all of you who suffer from headaches. It can also be used on your neck or shoulders. It can be used hot or cold.

While it was a lovely cold ring, It melts so quickly and drips all over me. None of my other migraine packs drip... not worth it. It says to turn it the other way for more cold but when it thaws its already warm. No point having a warm ring on my head.... Updated. I started using it again recently as a backup. Now the ring has split open with very few uses and is leaking a white gel. 8march23
