ILIUM ENGINE GUARD SYSTEM FOR BMW R1200RT 2014 +...BLACK 30-200BL

I have ilium front and rear bars on my 2017 RT. The front bars have no problem and work as they were designed to. The rear bars however contacted my rear driveshaft housing and damaged the powder coat finish, leaving a scar. You can see this in the photo. This is discussed on BMWMOA and several others have had this same problem. Since then Ilium has redesigned the left rear bar mount to stick out further and not contact the driveline housing. If you have this problem you should contact them for a replacement. If you are buying them new be sure to specify that you want the redesigned part, not any old stock that may damage your bike. This advice also applies to the 1250RT.

The media could not be loaded.  Very high quality crash bars, perfect fit, all mounting hardware was stainless. The steel tubing is very thick walled, welds looked perfect. Very happy. 2014 BMW R1200RT. ( liquid cooled )
