.177 and .22 Caliber Air Gun Cleaning Kit - Includes Cleaning Rod, Brushes, Mops, Jags, Pads, Driver Set and Thread Adapter

Never occurred to me that airguns would need cleaning - there's no powder involved, so what's the point? But I read various forums that said you should absolutely clean them. So I bought this set, thinking I might as well. What you get is a 33" cable - not rod - that fits inside the .177 barrel. There is a brush and a mop for both .177 and .22. The cable isn't all that stiff. I had to really work at it to get the mop through the barrel - the handle isn't particularly useful for this, since the breech on my .177 is too small to get the cable into. I had to feed it in through the muzzle like you would with a rod, but pinching the cable to hold it and feeding it in about an inch at a time. Bit of a pain. It was surprisingly oily and dark when I got it back out, so cleaning was in order.Two nice things about this set - the handle is a hex receiver on one side, and they give you a set of six driver bits that fit it, so the handle doubles as a screwdriver. They give you a *big* flathead - probably for scope screws - that's 10mm wide, a regular sized flat and two phillips heads, and a 3mm and 4mm hex key bits. It's also kind-of usable as a t-handle to pull the cable through. But only kind-of, because having pushed the darned thing into the barrel by hand, you might as well just pull it back out by hand too.A problem with the handle is that one side is threaded, and the threads don't fit anything in the set. The brushes and mops thread into the cleaning cable, but nothing threads into that handle. Odd.Finally, it comes with little blow-through cleaning pellets - 15 of each, .177 and .22 - so you can blow those through like you would use a cleaning patch for a regular cleaning. It's not a bad set for the money if you're only cleaning air rifles once or twice a year.

Use this kit a lot. Perfect for my air pistol. Will most definitely buy this again when needed!

Cleans air guns good price for what you get ii do wish they included a stiff handle too though. But this will do the job.

Could be better, cleaning cable fits well and will last year’s. You can also make one with fishing line works just as good. Solid kit only thing needing to replace in future are the cleaning tips, they do wear out but the tools that come with it will last. It has a purpose Great for break barrel single shot rifles..not good for Break barrel repeaters like the Hatsan Speedster that is a break barrel however it feeds the pellets. It also comes with two metal feed thru brushes which is always in a good gun cleaning kit, you should not use for basic cleaning. Read up on those before you put it down the barrel a hundred times. Oh and if you don’t know why you need to clean air rifle like a lot of people were confused about on these reviews, the pellets have a very thin layer of oil on them to prevent corrosion and that oil builds up and collects dust overtime just like any rifle out there, it severely affects accuracy If not cleaned or cleaned right. And we all know why would choose to shoot air rifles. They a B**** to hit the target! Hope this helps.
