Awesome book series
4 of 5 stars due to grammatical and spelling errorsThis book series is about a woman who is half elf and half human. She meets a man who is half vampire. When she is near him her magic gets a bit crazy. Suddenly, her life gets real bizarre and chaotic and a bit dangerous. She is kidnapped, nearly murdered on several occasions. Then her beloved grandmother is murdered and she finds a letter alluding to some contract involving her. Her grandmother died protecting her. But from what ?!? Read on to find out.

Great book
The story always made me want to on. Not really a boring minute.Who ever checked this book before it went out did a bad job. There were a ton of missed spelled wordsand words that were switched around.

So much potential!
Okay, I know that some people will question my sanity for giving this series three stars, but let me explain! The story actually isn't bad, there are tons of technical discrepancies and grammatical errors, but the bones of the story is pretty good. I think that the author has good ideas, she just needs a real editor and someone to critique and polish her work before it's published. I read several of the reviews before I purchased the series because I was torn, the cover looked a little trashy, but the description caught my interest. I was curious, and to be honest, I'm glad that I read it, the grammatical errors are really annoying, and some of the timelines are askew, but despite that, I actually enjoyed the story. For those that were annoyed with the main character's insecure and sometimes "not very smart" behavior and over emotional personality, I would love to hear how you had all of your shit together and never had a bad relationship in your 20's.... I'll wait. She was completely irrational, foolhardy, and loved a man that was no good for her...HELLO!!! Sound like most young women that I've ever met, including myself at one point. Give this series a go, I know that the errors are immense but the story is good and the characters are endearing. On a more personal note, I could live out the rest of my natural life never having to read the word cock as a sexual term, EVER again! The sex in the books was, at some times, a little graphic, but not nearly as pornographic as some of the reviews would lead you to believe... Again, the cover does look a little trashy, so it's not like you pick this series up thinking you can discuss it at bible study...just saying.

The witching hour (all 5 books )
One of the best series I've read ! I honestly can say I had a hard time putting the books down. Ms . Mazurkiewicz is truly one of the best authors I have had the pleasure to read. Her characters come alive and the action is suspenseful and Continuous ! Loved the books!

Good story but needs editing!
The storyline is good, characters are well written. For the story I'd give it 4 stars, however, with all the errors it's hard to ignore them and not dock a star. There are many typos and misspelled words and needs to be edited.

Couldn’t stop reading!
I really enjoyed this series overall. But, there were so many grammatical errors!! Who proofread these books!? The errors were distracting. I feel like some of it was predictable; however, that didn’t stop me from developing feelings for the characters. I would have loved more back story on several of them. I feel like there could have been a few more books in this series too....... In the end, I read all 5 in four days because I just couldn’t stop myself from needing to know what kind of trouble was around the next corner for Julia. I would recommend these and I will re-read these.

Entertaining books, but...
The Witching Hour box set. Very frustrating to read. Every time Julia gets badly hurt she always says she's fine within minutes of being badly hurt or I don't care about the damage, big hole in her neck, arm and legs burnt. Then in the next paragraph it states how bad she's hurt. Her magic builds up and says almost every time "I need to cast a spell ," to get ride of the buildup . When a vampire has to leave it's always seems to be an urgent matter they need to attend to. And Julua getting mad at Nathaniel because someone cast a memory spell on him????? These are just the bigger issues I like the bases of the books, the characters are enjoyable, but I think other ways to describes these different situations might improve my enjoyment. I always seem to catch these kinds of scenarios. I read for enjoyment, but my thinking is very logical. This is just my opinion. Entertainment books.

Not as bad as the reviews I read stated.
I read the reviews on this and most were not that great. But I enjoyed the series. The main character was just a little over the top for me (I’d have dumped Mr Arse along time ago). Yes, the editing was a little rough but the storyline worked for me. The 1st book was free so I must thank Ms Mazurkiecz for that and yes, I did buy the rest.

If this set was free it would be too much!
Where to start…..When I purchase a book, I will always read it from start to finish, even if the story starts off a little slow or I’m not really ‘feeling it’. I don’t like to leave a book or series part way through as I am an eternal optimist hoping that the next page, chapter or book will be better than the one I previously finished. This series is five books long and in my opinion, there are four books too many. The main character, Julia was outlined as a bad ass with hidden depths. She came across as an uninspiring, Insipid, juvenile, door mat who frankly (and this was the only consistent occurrence in the series) always made the most bizarre decisions. Her relationships with Jasper, Nathanial and Quentin all bordered on being somewhat abusive in nature. The author was trying in one breath to portray her as being an independent, self sufficient grown woman and in the another Julia was being controlled by overbearing misogynistic male charactersThe whole series lacked cohesion. Flitting back and forth from one topic to the next or rehashing comments that were unnecessary. Perhaps the author was trying to increase her word count? But this caused a disjointed story line that made no sense at times. Then there is the continuity within the series. Timelines were all over the place. The main characters met, were together a few months, were apart for 8 months and this equalled a 2-year relationship? Another example would be where one book ended in December & started in February and this equalled 8 months? There are many, many examples where this story just didn’t flow. The author switched between English and American colloquialisms. Pick one and stick with it.The books were based for the most part in London, with English characters. The author herself, studied in England and also lives here. We don’t have sidewalks in England our police are not referred to as Cops and they certainly don’t carry guns and go shooting at suspects willy nilly. There were numerous other American terms throughout the series where the author seemed to forget where she had based her books. The spelling & grammar within all five books was absolutely awful. Besides inaccurate spellings, some sentences made no sense at all and even a character named Tron was referred to as Torn! Did this author have a proof reader? The author demonstrated throughout the series truly atrocious writing. Notwithstanding a gross neglect with spelling and grammar.I personally feel that I was charged too much at 99p for this box set and I feel for anyone who actually paid full price when ordering these books individually. This author should ensure, as a bare minimum, that her books are proof read and edited before subjecting a paying audience to any more of her not so good literary gems.

Great if you enjoy macho showdowns and continuous abuse of women
When I started to read this series I was really enjoying it.******SPOILER*******However I soon realised that the female lead was another helplessly in love swooning woman who had no control of her emotions, consistently was embarrassed by the man she “loved” and put up with it.Sorry, I know it’s only a book but who is our target audience. Do we want out young women to think it’s ok to be treated like crap, abused and manipulated whilst being in the premise of love. The fact that the female lead repeatedly went out of her way to have her dignity rolled over and had no regard to her safety as if she had not a pair of brain cells between her ears just doesn’t do it for me.I’d have loved to see a strong woman…. But one who respected herself and demanded her man respect her too.Not for me.

not bad but needs editing
I presume that the author's first language is not English as sometimes it seemed as though Google translate had been used; some sentences didn't make sense and wrong words used. There were typos, grammatical errors and statements that an English person (the main character) just wouldn't say. If it was edited, tightened up and polished I would have given more stars.

The witching hour box set
I enjoyed reading this story with twists and turns. And a good ending I found it very interesting. But with. reading the five volumes one after the other the story had a recall on past items. The sex within the story was most explicit and in my thoughts a bit much. but I suppose it will be okay for someone who would not object to what was written. But other wise enjoyed the story.

okay book
only read the first book so far . The story is good but Julia is annoying at times. There are a lot of mistakes in the book and quite a few Missing/ Blank pages which makes reading it quite hard as you miss out on parts of the story.I normally read reviews before buying but did not this time. I will in future.
