This film has a deep life lesson, as well as good humour. In a world full of anger and hatred, eddie murphy shows that meaningless actions and words have an effect on other people, as well as himself, after lying to people a tree springs up in his garden, and everytime Eddies character Jack spoke, the leaves would fall until the tree was bare, and Jack would die, unless he figured out what the tree was trying to teach him Which was that Life is so short, so choose your words carefully, show people you care and love them. Fabulous film, love it.

A truly lovely film with fantastic acting from Eddie Murphy. A must watch because it is a hidden gem

Eddie Murphy has made some great movies. But this isn't one of them. It doesn't work as a fantasy and it doesn't work as a comedy. A sad waste of the great comedic talents of both Eddie Murphy and Allison Janney.

What a great movie will be loaned out to friends and retained in our library..........it is funny sad and meaningful and everyone should watch it!! we love Eddie Murphy anyway but not all his movies are to our fast but this and the Holy man rate right up there at the top!

Eddie Murphy at his comical genius best!It is really fun to watch, with the family as well.Also, this film is full of lessons & realizations in life!
