She’s great for another yep of person but Karen Kingston spoke ...
I could not be more thankful for finding this book. I have tried many others, and could not seem to adapt to their methods and suggestions. Maria Kondo seems to have been born to clean, that’s not me, and her suggestion to do it all at once assumes you don’t have that much work to do. She’s great for another yep of person but Karen Kingston spoke to the heart of the matter. It was immediately clear to me that she understands the minds and hearts of the clutter-bound who are overwhelmed and willing but don’t know how or where to start or proceed. She describes the mental/spiritual crisis and the cycle of how clutter perpetuates more clutter in a way that makes more sense than any other I’ve read. She speaks to the fang shut principles of energetic stuckness and accurately connects it to life circumstances that tend to manifest because of it.The proof for me is in the result. I have daily steadily enjoyed the lightness of moving more and more stuff out of my space. I especially appreciate the categories she outlines they differ from the mainstream ideas you hear every day. I have recently got great mileage out of the unfinished category. I was surprised to find that it applies to a lot of what lives in my apt taking up space and making me feel guilty for procrastinatin and sad and discouraged because it’s been there so long. This book has changed the biggest problem I have been hiding from for more that a decade. I hope it helps you too.

Practical and an interesting read
Can’t wait to get home from my trip and look at my space in a new way. Feng shui books often either assume you know what they are talking about or condescendingly explain every little thing. I didn’t feel lost nor spoken down to with this book.I also appreciated it was more than the house number is unlucky, the door is on the wrong side or hang a mirror or put in a water feature. I feel like I can actually implement many of these practices and that it can be done incrementally not all or nothing.

Great book. I keep giving it as a gift
Great book. I keep giving it as a gift. It's short, easy to read, practical and makes sense. If you are looking for a guide of how to simplify your life by getting rid of things, decluttering and being more thoughtful about what you buy --this book is very helpful. I read it about fifteen years ago and looking back I realize it changed my life. I wasn't a pack rat but like most people, I had stuff that took up space and needed more space. It helped me look at what I have and evaluate what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to clear from my home. This in turn made me evaluate my purchases and be more discriminating on what I bought going forward. This book changed how I live my life and I find the decluttering is an ongoing process for both 'things' and all the abstract stuff like how I spend my time, what I am filling my space and life with, etc. I like how Karen Kingston changed my thinking.

A Practical Clutter Removal Guide
Karen dealt with all the issues that concerned me in her book. I hadn't considered it earlier but she made me realize that there can be certain mental and emotional issues involved in ridding your self of clutter. Feng Shui had not been something I had thought much about earlier but her linking it with clutter removal has caused me to think differently about it. Her book is nicely organized and she follows a reasoned plan to develop a clutter free life style. I was focused on physical clutter but she definitely made me realize there can be clutter in the mind as well. I would definitely recommend her book as a practical guide to follow for ridding your self of clutter. Her discussion of colon cleansing in the last part of the book I didn't relate to clutter removal but she expressed the belief that this can also be an aspect of clearing our body of unneeded and undesirable material.

Not my cup of tea
I did not like the book. I thought Kingston's approach was like any other author's approach to cleaning out clutter. I was disappointed that the title included Feng shui because I read little about Feng shui in her book. I am familiar with the Feng shui books on the market and Kingston missed the mark. I give her three stars for effort because I think two stars is abusive to authors.

My reference book for Feng-Shui
I read this book's Turkish edition may be 18 years ago, back then it had a lot of impact in my life. Recently I wanted to check something from the book but couldn't find it, so I bought this digital version and also ordered the hardcopy in Turkish again. Later on I found the old book, so now I have 2 hard copies and one digital (am I cluttering?:D) I will give away one of the hardcopies probably, but still it gives me a lot of joy to have it in my library. Anytime I want to check something about feng-shui or decluttering I go back to this book, I love it!

Don't hesitate at purchasing this book if your in any way interested in feng shui
Absoloutely loved this book!I am a complete novice at feng shui without any understanding but really liked the concept... and so glad I got this book before I read a feng shui book! This high lights the importance of clearing before you start the feng shui but most importantly explains they why... but in the most interesting way and feels like a conversation with a friend and cuppa rather than an author. Not boring at all, quite entertaining and lots of great anecdotes. Easy to visualise...I have started putting these principles into practice and feel these are the base building pillars for any feng shui...Now ready to start the next step of feng shui itself and hope the next book is as easy to read, understand, implement and enjoy as this one was!!5 stars!!

Fun and detailed
I am a clutterer of the messy type - blocking doors with stuff. This is not the first decluttering book i read - Mike Nelson got me started. Here is a very good step by step instruction and very convincing arguments which made me laugh and be happy about my situation and it's so much easier to let go of things.i think it's a very good read for the neat clutterers - Nelson's book might be a bit too much for them.
