Gypsy Girl, The

i felt as though i had partly read this book before and it wasnt until I eventually finished it that I saw it was originally published as The Romany Girl. It's unfair of publishers to do this as i wouldnt have bought this book again.Thi time I finished the book but have found it extremely hard going and not a pleasurable read. There is far too much emphasis on Gypsy culture. The book could have been cut by a third by omitting a lot of this as things were continually repeated. I love Val Wood as an author but this book in my opinion falls far short in comparison with the quality of her other novels which I have read.

I have read Val Wood books before and enjoyed them. This is my favourite one yet. She has a wonderful way of describing a scene. So much so that you can almost hear the whole thing right in front of you. I fell in !ove with the Romany way of life an rd was enchanted by the whole wedding scene it was so vividly written.

I have read a lot of Val Wood books and have never been disappointed with any of them.and this as all the others has come up to expectations. JoyWhitaker

Once again Val Wood keeps us interested to the very last page. The research she must have done for this novel is amazing, her knowledge of the Romanies is presented sympathetically with great understanding.

Great book very entertaining a good read and a lovely ending A very good writer and I’ve loved all her books
