Two bold warriors, two proud lands, united by passionโand revenge . . . Prince Olaf of Norway โLord of the Wolves, the golden Viking warrior who came in his dragon ship to forge a great kingdom in the Emerald Isle. Princess Erin โDaughter of the Irish High King, the ebony-haired beauty who swore bitter vengeance on the legendary Norseman who had brought death and destruction to her beloved homeland. Yet, in the great Norse and Irish alliance against the invading Danes, it was her own father who gave her in marriage to her most hated enemy. Bewitched by Olaf's massive strength, seduced by his power, still Erin vowed that neither the wrath of his sword nor the fire of his kiss would sway the allegiance of her proud and passionate heart. Review: Great story - Another winner from Heather Graham! Action on every page and interesting strong characters. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Review: Thrilling 1st in a Great Viking Trilogy! - This is the first in Graham's Viking trilogy (GOLDEN SURRENDER, THE VIKING'S WOMAN and LORD OF THE WOLVES). Set in 9th century Ireland (Eire), England and the north coast of France, these are the stories of Prince Olaf of Norway, the first Lord of the Wolves, his bride, Princess Erin, daughter of the Irish High King, the Ard-Righ of Tara, and their descendants. I'll warn you, the men are strong willed, arrogant and domineering--Vikings, even if the last two are half Irish. Who wants a gentleman Viking? Their loves are independent, stubborn and courageous women who can fight with the best of the men and have no intention of being dominated by a Viking. But then wolves and the cubs of wolves mate for life, or so says the druid who is advisor to the Irish king's family. Each of the marriages is arranged over the objection of the female who fights the husband who has laid claim to both her their lands and to her. This first story of Olaf and Erin in GOLDEN SUMMER is a good one and tells us much of what the Norsemen contributed to Ireland's history. For in conquering they also came to give to the land and to give of themselves. Olaf came in his dragon ship not only to conquer, but to build a kingdom and to stay. He welcomes the Irish king's truce sealed by his daughter's hand, even if he has no desire for the Irish wench. Erin, who has met the Wolf before and hates him, feels betrayed by the father she loves. Though the marriage begins on very bad terms, love does change things in the end. Graham's writing is, as always, very well done with superb historical references woven into a love story that befits the cultures of the hero and heroine. The sexual tension is high and the love between Olaf and Erin believable. I highly recommend this trilogy. For you Irish romance lovers, it's a story of the early days in a great country.

Good read
I really like this author. But this book started off kind of slow. It gets much better in the middle, and the ending is great.

Excellent read
I loved reading this book about the Irish Viking connection and reading about Olaf the White who wanted a peaceful life of his own and found it with Erin the Irish Princess of Tara. But it came with a great many war battles and battles of their own. Heather Graham is a wonderful author. One of the things I loved about this book was the feeling and warmth of the people and family. I could feel the emotion from them. Aed the King I especially loved. What hard decisions he had to make for his beloved Ireland. His heart broke over the one decision to make peace for Ireland that took his favorite daughter from him. Olaf and Erin had a hard time with their pride. But they finally tell each other that they love each other. I love reading about the Vikings and Ireland. I am descended from both countries. Tongue in cheek: maybe I am descended from Olaf and Erin. HA

Wonderful romance
This was a n exceptionally written story by a wonderful author. I have enjoyed her writing throughout the years and this book was once again a winner. The storyline was exciting and the romance beautifully written. I enjoyed the hero and heroine and how their romance developed throughout the story. The secondary characters were well written and I was sorry to see this story end. Definitely a five star rating for this book!

She hated all Viking due to the death and destruction of ...
Princess Erin daughter of an Irish King was given in marriage to Olaf Prince of Norway. She could not believe her father would do this. She hated all Viking due to the death and destruction of her homeland. She even had to be drugged for the marriage. This book was written about medieval times where women had no rights. Husbands could do what they wanted with their wives. Olaf was cruel to Erin at first. He hit her several times, called her names and pulled her behind his horse .She tried to kill him and he tied her hands to the bed..He had loved before and she was killed. He intended never to love again. He did do some good things one he was going to send his mistress away after Erin asked him to. He had not slept with her .I like Viking stories I know love does not come easy in them. If you can realize that this is how people loved back then and a HEA was in the picture. You will enjoy this book. If you want a sweet cute book this one is not for you.I have read this book twice.

It was a ok .
It was hard to read. I found myself putting the book down a few times because the back and forth between the two main characters was just a little mind numbing. Parts of the the book was good, but its not something I would pick up again or recommend.
