Simple, but Brilliant
This mat is a great low-cost way to practice in your backyard. The mat serves two functions: hitting mat and training aid.As a mat, it isn't anything spectacular. That said, for the money, it is a fantastic mat. It's small size means you can put it anywhere, and the string attachment means that the mat won't slide all over the place on miss-hits, which happens frequently with other small mats. The air divot function also helps in this regard. Theoretically, if you hit the ball well, the mat will more or less stay in place. This not only gives you great feedback on your ball striking, but also means the mat will likely last a lot longer than other similarly sized hitting mats (other mats will become damaged over time, even on good hits as you are making hard contact with the mat on every strike--this often means that the turf surface becomes disconnected from the mat).As a training aid, it serves its purpose well. As I mentioned, it gives good feedback on your ball striking. I have also found that it has helped me visualize the type of strike I am supposed to make with my irons. It can be difficult for me to strike the ball first, then earth, probably because of some sort of instinctual aversion to hitting the ground even though I know in my brain that good strikes require a divot. The Air Divot removes that block entirely, because I can see with my eyes what my brain knows, which I am certain will help train my muscle memory for the golf course. As Dr. B mentions, this also will help those with wrist and arm injuries as there won't be any shock transfer to the body on impact. This is a good purchase, and I recommend it for folks who are looking for a simple solution to home practice without breaking the bank. I also recommend it for folks who are having some issues with fat strikes or injuries.

Does what it says
I think I like this product . . . because it doesn't lie. If you mishit, you know it. If you don't it still moves (because it's supposed to) but not as much.It does take a bit to get used to it - hence the I think I like it comment. I bought it more for the 'give' that the 'air divot' aspect and save my arms.Bottom line the price makes it a worthwhile purchase. I think any golfer would benefit from it.

Damage to golf Clubs
The mat is GREAT to hit off of. It does everything that it says it does and works perfectly in my back yard...however, I have noticed on a few different golf clubs, some MAJOR scratching...I would almost call it gouging. I'm going to use some older clubs to confirm that the scratching has come from the mat...but I've never seen scratching like this from hitting off of grass or any other mats.

Don't waste your money
This is a piece of garbage. After about 50 swings in two days, it started to rip down the center of the top layer. The rivet ripped right out on my last shot. I'm going to try to use the bottom layer to hold a rubber tee for my driver, but the functionality that they are selling is worthless.

Excellent Portable Practice Aid!
First off, I don’t generally write many reviews, but felt obligated to inform other avid golfers about this excellent product. It’s a very simple substitute solution for hitting a lot of practice balls at the range without the arm strain. I hit hundreds of balls a week and this highly portable “mat” helps ease the physical stress of hitting off hard range mats, in addition to better simulating the feel of hitting off grass. Stick it in your bag and bring it to the range for better and more comfortable practice sessions. Highly Recommend

Convenient
This mat allows good contact with the ball and provides proper feedback if you don't hit the ball first. As others have said, hitting off of this mat is easy on the wrists and hands.

Love it!
Great product, fits right in my golf bag for aQuick setup at the range. The best part is hitting off this mat is so much better on my body vs the range mat.
