This Is My Favorite For Long Term Storage.
I use these in vacuum sealed bags or in mylar bags that have vacuum sealed contents inside of them. They work-- the pink dots indicate they are active and ready to be sealed up. They heat up slightly and that's another good indicator. Notice the dots turn gray when they're no longer sealed within the bags. Very helpful product for long term food storage.I do a lot of canning also, but when SHTF, I'd rather have dry, lightweight bags of food than heavier glass jars. So for serious bulk food preparation, dry storage using oxygen absorbers is an excellent choice.

They don't suck the air out of the bag or bucket they ...
After reading some of these reviews I think people are misunderstanding the intent of these. They don't suck the air out of the bag or bucket they absorb the oxygen and leave nitrogen which doesn't spoil the food.Fast service and there was a pink sticker inside so you know they're good. If you're new to using these make sure you have a canning jar or something airtight to put the extras in right away or they will lose effectiveness. Your best bet is to have everything ready in assembly line fashion ready to pop them in and seal the mylar or bucket. These are different from silica gel packets. Don't use with sugar or it will harden and once the package is opened I believe they lose effectiveness so if using these with 5 gallon buckets get mylar bags too and put a pound or 2 in each bag depending on how long you want things to last. If you are doing this for emergency preparedness, I would definitely do that. I just buy flour in bulk. I don't bother with mylar for that. I put 12 cups in gallon ziplock bags with an oxygen absorber and toss them in 6 gallon buckets. It is especially helpful when you use different types of flour because 50 pounds doesn't fit in a bucket. This way you can fill canisters and have the extra tucked way nice and fresh for later use. If you use wheat germ or flaxseed flours with breads that ask for a couple tablespoons a loaf, put these in 1 lb bags and don't use oxygen absorbers with leavening agents or yeast. There are some really good articles on this subject if you are using them for dry canning I would take the time to read them or you could use them incorrectly and waste time & money.

Second time is a charm
The order I received came in three packs of 20 each. They all worked without any issue. The ones that I did not use immediately were put in a mason jar and vacuum sealed. If you understand how to use oxygen absorbers in mylar bags you should not have an issue. I also used a vacuum sealer to seal the Mason jar and the unused packets. Later I use these and they worked fine

Works as Advertised
I'm new to dry canning and read many reviews before I purchased this item.I really couldn't be happier with my first effort at canning beans, flour, oatmeal, coffee beans, etc... I've incorporated the Oxy-Sorb with a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer. I know the Oxy-Sorb works as some of my older Ball jars have rims that are too thick for the FoodSaver to seal a lid to. I know some people just ad the Oxy-Sorb and that creates a seal so I tried with the older Ball jars and it seams to work just fine. I added one Oxy-Sorb per old Ball jar, placed the metal ring on and they were sealed within a few hours. Couldn't be better and I have piece of mind with the other jars that did seal will stay sealed with this product. Getting ready to order another batch now.Oh yes, it is nice that they come in bags of twenty so I don't have too many out at once. A quick tip, that all of you may know, that I learned from Youtube was to just put any leftovers in an empty mason jar and vacuum seal it with my FoodSaver. Now I won't loose any and I always have some ready, even if I just need one or two.

My order arrived with 60 absorbers packaged in 3 airtight bags of 20 each. I pre-read the previous reviews of what worked and what didn’t work for people. I used the absorbers for dry packing food into glass jars. I packed beans, candy, rice, noodles, chips, spices; all types of food. I got 20 jars ready at a time in order to quickly utilize the oxygen absorbers. They all appear to have worked because I tested random jars a couple days after they were sealed and a month later and so far, all sealed tight because I could hear the air suction each time I pulled a lid off. I use Ball jars and lids. I don’t know if that makes a difference to someone else but it has for me. I will be purchasing again.

Considering I ordered 8x8 dry bags without oxygen absorbers, ...
Considering I ordered 8x8 dry bags without oxygen absorbers, I sort of needed these to use those bags. Also it does not hurt to have some extra on hand for when you open a bag and decide you don't want to use all of it at that time. You can seal it back up. My husband and I have decided that we will keep some of these on hand from now on. A friend of ours introduced us to this about a year ago. We don't know why we were not doing it before not. I always canned things, but instead of canning all of those beans, it is much easier to dry can them in Mylar bags and they keep so much longer with the oxygen taken out of them. Also you don't have to deal with all of the jars.

Works as needed....good price,shipped fast .
They do what they need too----not a bad deal either. What can I say? They came fast and were as advertised..that is always a win in my book.I will buy them again if and when I need more.

Great Product!
By far these have been my favorite O2 Absorbers that I have purchased.I have tried many, for Freeze Drying purposes, and these are the best IMO! It's great that they are packaged in 20's as many companies don't, and it makes resealing them a pain. However I would still prefer having them packed in 10's. Its very rare that I would use more than 10 at a time and the quality of the product will decline each time they are exposed to air.

Good price but took 24 hours activate
While Oxygen Absorbers would normally take around 15 minutes to activate, we had to wait a full24 hours for the same effect. Not sure these are brand new due to this, it seems like they couldhave been in storage for longer periods of time (hence why they did not activate right away). That being said the price makes up for it. If you are not in a hurry then this productis a good solution.

Good and effective.
These work well at absorbing the oxygen inside well-sealed mylar bags of dry foods. Not just for long-term storage, I am using these for foods that we don't access too often, preferably those inside quality zip-top bags. If the bag is damaged, I replace it with a new mylar bag, otherwise I just keep using the products own packaging.I bagged the leftovers in a ziplock freezer bag and then put that inside the original wrapper and ironed it closed again. Works great at preserving them for future use. If left unsealed, they absorb all the oxygen they can (getting quite warm in the process) - I tried this with one to see how effective they are. These are good.
