Great quality product. Very delicious. Easy to prepare in the microwave or you can place the entire unopened tray into boiling water on the stove.

Tried three different rice brands. This one has more of a gummy texture. Good to eat with soups or food with gravy. Price is higher for same amount.

I was highly craving something like the packs of microwaveable white rice I would buy at the hyakuen stores in Japan, and this did not disappoint! Unlike other varieties you can find elsewhere on Amazon, this brand does not leave any kind of chemical aftertaste from the preservative used, and it goes really well with furikake, kimchi, or shiokonbu topping. Highly recommended for anyone who misses Japanese-style sticky rice but doesn't have a rice cooker at home, or just wants less hassle/prep time.

Tasty and very easy to prepare

I was thinking taking it for backpacking, but it took much longer. Probably my fault not reading the description carefully. It's not Japanese "alpha-rice", which requires only adding hot water for prep and ready in 10 minutes.

This is a delicious shelf stable product. I was actually surprised that this was better than I imagined for a shelf stable microwaveable product. Although the price is a bit high, it is worth it for being a flavorful quick fix. I use this rice with many meals when I am in a hurry and don’t feel like making a full meal.

Of course there is no substitute for freshly steamed rice in a rice cooker or on the stove. But this comes pretty close. It's especially good for curry or chili rice or stew or anything else with sauce. I take it out of the plastic package and microwave in a glass bowl covered with a damp paper towel. That helps "steam" it while reheating and makes it fluffier. Make sure not to over heat because it will turn gluey.

It’s kind of pricy compare to other rice packs, but it tastes similar to the one I ate in Japan. Love it!
