Superb
This is my favorite anime and manga, I thoroughly enjoy the art work as well as the story and find the manga to be superior to the anime, though they are both 5 stars

Mildly entertaining but overly familiar
ONEGAI TEACHER ("Please Teacher") is the first of a two volume set by artist Shizuru Hayashiya and a writer known only as "Please!" The main character is Kei, a high school student who suffers from a strange medical condition: in times of stress, his body goes into a sort of suspended animation. As a result, he looks a few years younger than he is. One night he discovers that his homeroom teacher is an alien sent to Earth to study humans. Through a series of misadventures and misunderstandings, Kei ends up having to marry her. This of course only complicates things more...It's a silly story but not a very interesting one. Reading this, I got the feeling I'd seen it all before. It's true that a lot of manga and anime repeats themes to the point of cliché, but some of it has the charm to overcome that. This one doesn't. The art is serviceable; probably what most people would call a typical manga style. It's just an average product overall.ONEGAI TEACHER is published in the original Japanese right-to-left format, making it annoying to read for English-speaking audiences. A few publishers have been doing this and I still haven't gotten used to it. To make it worse, the lettering isn't always consistent, so that even if you have successfully retrained yourself, you'll still run into trouble in spots. The story is recommended for ages 13 and up, which is over-cautious in my opinion. While I hate to leave any story unfinished, I don't see myself purchasing the second volume. If I saw it in a library, I might pick it up, though. Recommended only for die-hard manga fans who read absolutely everything.

Onegai Teacher
Kei Kusanagi, a high school sophomore, has a peculiar condition that caused him to shut down physiologically; it caused him to lose 3 years of his life. One evening, he saw a light land on the nearby lake and discovered an alien woman floating over the waters. The next day, Kei discovered that the alien, Mizuho Kazami, is his new teacher. Kei and Mizuho soon got married under the strangest situation - and Kei's ... uncle, Minoru, didn't help matters - but I'll stop here to not spoil things too much in the manga or the anime (coming in May).I became curious about this title when I came across it in U.S. edition of "New Type" and imported the anime from Japan. "Please, Teacher!", or "Onegai Teacher", despite its premise of an 18-year Kei marrying his older beautiful teacher is a coming-of-age story about growing up and living with pain, sorrow, joy, and love. There are some sci-fi elements here, but the story is basically a romance, which means that even though this is only the first book, the relationship between Kei and Mizuho isn't given short shrift. I would recommend your getting the series and the (12 episodes and 1 OAV) anime if you like "Oh My Goddess!".

Good story
I read this manga today. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like it because the 'texting' is slightly different than most manga I've read. After reading for a few pages though, I got used to it and by the end of the book, I was eager for more. This is a great romantic story with plenty of comedy that kind of sucks you in. Now I am impatient to get volume 2.

Good manga if your a fan of the anime!
Well I went a bought this mainly because the anime was so great and so is this book. But it is missing a few details. some of the sences from the anime arnt in the book that helped bring the anime up and more dramatic. But it starts off with a few good laughs. And its very dramtic. If you really liked the first one pick up the second one as well the story only gets better from where this one ends. This book is full of shocking twist and turns with lots of romance and comedy. So if you but this it will ot be a waste of money. But beware this book as some adult sence's that should not be viewd by kids under the age of 13.

JUST AWFUL
This is defintaly the worst manga i've read. It's just gawd-awful. I barly got through the 1st book cuz it's so, so awful. I dind't bother reading the 2nd book. i dind't care what would happen to the characters. The story is basically some kid wants a girlfriend and a alien appears. wow. *throws the book away*

A lot like the anime
I had seen the anime and found it okay. I was a bit interested in seeing if I could experience something more with the manga, but it did not seem to contain any larger expansion on the story. In the end it was more of a completionist purchase to have the matching manga to go with my previously purchased Onegai Twins. In all honesty I would suggest the anime or the spinn off Onegai Twins over this manga, since they seem to be a little more content and enjoyment.
