Instructions are terrible!

A really nice book. Bought this to augment other books used for teaching secondary age students. Simple, well written text, good explanations.and clear illustrations taking you step by step, Examples of effective and beautiful pop-ups. A hit with my students as well. A good but brief overview of tools, papers and different types of card as well as hints and suggestions when having problems. I am going to build a portfolio of of the different mechanisms discussed as a reference for future use alongside the book when teaching. Highly recommended. The not too long, and again well illustrated, section about the history of pop ups is fascinating.

I am going through page by page as instructed, for me there are not enough instructions, it tells you equipment you need so I bought everything, when it tells you to fold after marking, it doesn't tell you the best way to do this, which makes you fiddle around making he rest of the pop up bendy and damaged, I think I'll have to go on utube

This is a very comprehensive and copiously illustrated guide, a veritable bible for any amateur interested in paper engineering. However, I do have one reservation: the publisher has tried to include so much that some of the projects' instructive photographs can be frustratingly small.
