There Goes A Dump Truck
The sudden appearance of a new "Dave" is an unexplained mystery, akin to when Dick York abruptly replaced Dick Sargeant as Darren on "Bewitched." But the lack of continuity doesn't seem to bother my two-year-old son, who makes me fast-forward through all the comedy routines anyway--it's like, I didn't pass up my turn on the swing for all this goofing around, so let's see some BIG TRUCKS, as advertised. Fortunately, there also are a lot of big trucks in this one, dumping loads of gravel and asphalt and all that good stuff, and making plenty of noise. So he's thrilled--so much that he'd watch it several times a day if we let him. From an adult's viewpoint, I think this is the best of the "There goes a..." series by far. There's some good basic information about various types of construction trucks, and the explanation of road-building and what happens in a quarry is actually pretty interesting.

Good purchase
Hard to believe but in the entire video there are only 3 (maybe 4) shots of dump trucks dumping their load. But there are good shots of trucks rolling.I like this new "Dave" guy. He's funny. However, he does go off on a tagent about how asphalt is made, which instantly drops my 2 year old's attention.I'd buy this one again.

Where's The "Real" Dopey Dave?
My 24 month old son owns most of the videos in this series, and this was the first time he asked to switch (to There Goes a Fire Truck) halfway through. The new Dave doesn't stack up.

My great grandson loved this years ago.
I got this for Ethan years ago as a Christmas gift and he loved it. Now he's playing games on his Wii.

Another Clarke Family Favorite
Not only does this video give the adults who patiently sit through "There goes a..." videos time, and time again, a good-natured and light-hearted break from the too-tight pants, banal humor and pompacity of Dave Hood, is has humor and whimsy your kids will love and you will appreciate. This new Dave is sweet and fun and my sons love him!!! I wish he starred in more of the "There goes a.." videos because my boys think he's funny and I can tolerate him so much more!! So far, we have only seen him in "Dumptrucks" and "Tactors"(which is fantastic as well!!).This video is on heavy rotation at my house, and if you have young fans of heavy equipment like I do, this will become THE favorite!!

You can keep your old Dave - this one's mine!
I don't know who likes this video better - me or my two year old son. I think it's me. We have this film on as many times as I allow in a day (I've worked hard to get it down to two). None of us get tired of it. I don't know anything about any old Dave (I live in the Uk and this was brought back for us as a gift) but THIS Dave is wonderful. He's funny and lively, and - well - very, very cute and handsome. I think I have developed a bit of a crush. When all's said and done the dump trucks are the real stars. This inspiring little film makes me want to ditch my design job and go and learn how to drive a monster truck that you need a 20 foot ladder to get into. It must be the most exhilarating feeling on earth to be in charge of so much raw power. In one of those trucks you are literally on top of the world. In a nutshell, this film is great fun for the whole family, so much so that we'll be buying all the others in the series. You don't get a higher recommendation than that. Thanks Dave!

"Where's the Old Dave?", my son asked
This tape is missing the polish and professional feel of the previous tapes in the There goes a ... series. This is especially true of the new actor playing Dave, the bumbling star of the series, who was played previously by Dave Hood. My son enjoyed the video but misses the old Dave.
